If anyone is new to comics/graphic novels, a couple interesting links:
- How To Read Comics
- What is Visual Language

CHRIS WARE INTERVIEWS
- The Paris Review
- The Guardian
- Manufacturing Intellect

JIMMY CORRIGAN REVIEWS
- The Independent
- Kirkus
- Sequart
- Graphic Novel Course

Let us know if you've read Chris Ware before, if you often read graphic novels, etc.

(Additional discussion threads will be posted on the 15th.)

LindaJ^ (lindajs) | 2548 comments I don't often read graphic novels and I have never read one by Chris Ware. I do not yet have the book in hand, but it is on its way.

I do like comics (what we called "funny books"), although they are often not funny. As a kid, I loved the superheroes, especially Dr. Solar.

Bryan--The Bee’s Knees (theindefatigablebertmcguinn) | 245 comments I read this a couple days ago, in preparation.

Break out your magnifying glasses!

Glad to have you both on board!

He certainly goes in for a lot of detail and, sometimes, some awful small font sizing!

Mark | 496 comments Well, my library has come through, and it's in my hands. Boy, the inside cover "How to read this" section is reader hostile! 4pt. type and random panel sequence. This is going to be long...

Marc (monkeelino) | 3456 comments Mod
The inside cover takes things to extremes!

Mark | 496 comments I've got a link to a PDF of the "Preface" in the "Whole Book" thread. It helps a little.

LindaJ^ (lindajs) | 2548 comments The book I ordered never arrived so I will not be reading it after all.

Marc (monkeelino) | 3456 comments Mod
That's disappointing, LindaJ^. Hope this isn't a regular occurrence for you with book orders.

LindaJ^ (lindajs) | 2548 comments Nope, quite unusual in fact. Probably can chalk it up to the holiday volume.
