Ok, so this wasn't my favorite book of this series. I felt like there was too much time where Moon wasn't with it, then the whole attack on Joy. It just didn't fit. The whole thing was what I was used to from this author or this series. I feel like this story could have been told in a novella much better than a full length book. There was too much filler. And that was disappointing for me.
It's a shame too because I liked both Joy and Moon and think they deserved better. I will continue with this series though. This is the first book I haven't truly enjoyed.

vs
F2L/E2L:

I really enjoyed this! Liz and Drew were such a great couple. I enjoyed how they both had to overcome some vulnerability. And I'm glad that their pasts hurts didn't stand in their way too long. I can't imagine how hard it is to start a relationship not only with someone you have such a strong history with but also with everyone in the world in your business!
I was excited to see all the Kowalskis in one place again. Boy have the multiplied since book 1! I've stepped away from the Kowalskis for a bit, but I'm definitely going with the next book. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next...with doom. :)

Science Fiction (EE - Pair 1)

Enjoyment - ★★★★. I liked it but wasn't blown away by it. Ruby grew a lot those and that's what I loved most!

Total - ★★★★. i will read book 2 but I didn't feel like I had to read it now.
vs.
F2L/E2l (Friends to Lovers - Pair 3):

Enjoyment - ★★★★½. This was a nice New Adult, but not the cliche stuff I have been reading lately.
Theme - ★★★★½. College romance between TA & student.
Total - ★★★★½. Definitely not a regurgitation of book 1.

Pair 1: Science Fiction vs. F2L/E2L
WINNER: F2L/E2L
I have to give the winning edge to F2L/E2L even though it didn't fit the genre quite as well as the SF. The F2L MCs were friends prior to becoming lovers but not long-time friends (as you usually think of with this trope) but they both assumed that even though they were 'lovers', nothing more would come of it and they would remain friends after they stopped being lovers, so it fit in that sense. On the other-hand, the romance part of the Science Fiction book left a bit of a cliff-hanger and overall made me sad. I also found that I want to keep reading the series for the romance part of it, not because I am a sci-fi fan... so the edge must go to the book I found more satisfying romantically and whose genre I would read for the sake of reading - I wouldn't choose to read sci-fi on my own but will always pick a F2L romance :-)
