I read this one and really enjoyed it. This is a fun middle grade series. It’s a complete story, but leaves you with questions about the characters that make you want to read the next one.

Before I started this book, I didn’t realize it was part of a series. Will definitely be backing up to read the first one.

Also the fact that it was set in France was a lot of fun to me (being French and having lived in Paris for more than 10 years). I laughed so hard at the accents (English to French and French to English). It was hilarious to see how posh French people are depicted. Definitely added to the story.
I enjoyed both, but this one had the edge for me. I think I connected emotionally with the ghost story which increase my enjoyment.
I enjoyed this one more than the first because I felt like the first took a little while to set the story up where this one was able to just jump into it. I like to see the growth of the characters so it was nice that Cass already had an idea of what she could do. I also like the developing relationship between Cass and Jacob, which has some interesting aspects.

Trouble is haunting Cassidy Blake . . . even more than usual.
She (plus her ghost best friend, Jacob, of course) are in Paris, where Cass's parents are filming their TV show about the world's most haunted cities. Sure, it's fun eating croissants and seeing the Eiffel Tower, but there's true ghostly danger lurking beneath Paris, in the creepy underground Catacombs.
When Cass accidentally awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-growing skills as a ghosthunter -- and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger.
And if Cass fails, the force she's unleashed could haunt the city forever.
