Ooh good one, Tracy :)

Blood in the Glens: True Crimes from the Scottish Highlands
I’ve read this before (Goodreads tells me in 2017) and remember enjoying it, I think! I can’t put my finger on all the murders/crimes so I’m sure I can read it again no bother.
PS: I’ll give the nomination thread til Friday, and if we haven’t got enough books by then, I’ll change the theme to all crime :)

All crime books can now be nominated! I’d like 5 nominations but I’d settle for at least three books, so get thinking!

It’s set in a fictional town in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland, written by an Argyllshire author. Lily is a go-getter and decides to fix the town’s problems and bring it into the 21st century. It’s written for teens 14+ but will appeal to older readers for its themes of teen issues (family life, mental health), teen empowerment and the focus on local Scottish communities and cultures.
The second book is out in May 2020 and tells the story of Gemma, Lily’s best friend, who’s deciding whether studying music in the city of Glasgow is really what she wants to do with her life.
What do you guys think?

The Kindle price is rather high. However, one of my library networks has a copy so I'm in.

Hi Divia, this sounds like an amazing book! Unfortunately it doesn't fit in with this months theme of crime fiction or true crime. However, I've got Childrens Books and Young Adult as a coming up theme which I could push ahead for March and April? Do let me know if I've missed something and there's a crime in the book!! Thanks, Ellen

Hey everyone, I’ll make up the poll for tomorrow (Sunday) so you have until tonight to nominate :)

It's time to decide what the first group read of 2020 will be!
A while ago, a few members showed interest in the theme True Crime, so I thought we'd while away the dark winter nights away with darker deeds. I'm not sure how many Scottish True Crime books are out there, so I'll accept books focusing on more than one crime, as long as at least one of the crimes has a Scottish link. The Scottish crime/s will be the ones we discuss.
Have a think and comment your book...
Looking forward to seeing what books you find out there!
Notes: Please only one nomination per person for this theme. If you can, use the 'add book/author' button to link the book and author to avoid confusion. Nominations must have a Scottish link.
