Are you watching the HBO show? I've been recording it but I haven't watched it yet. Have you watched the Mr. Mercedes show through DirecTV? I watched the first couple of episodes, they were available free through their website. It was pretty good.

Yup. Watching it and loving it. Last night's episode was really good. They are actually expanding the story from the book and I'm kind of liking it.
I watched the first season of Mr. Mercedes, and then we got rid of DirecTV so no more Audience network. Good news if you want to watch it for free, and if you can get Hoopla through your library. They have the first two seasons on there. Mom watched the second season the other day, but I didn't get a chance before the episodes returned so I'll have to wait until next month (only 10 borrows per month, and each episode counts as one). Incidentally, I haven't even read any of the Bill Hodges books yet! What!? lol

Oh you're all backwards!! lol. Actually, I read The Outsider first too because it wasn't touted as being related to Bill Hodges/Holly Gibney until months after release. So I was disappointed about spoilers for Bill Hodges in the book. I have since read the trilogy and liked it. Ugh, Hoopla only allows me THREE borrows per month! I actually bought Mr. Mercedes season 1 and 2 on Amazon, like physical DVD copies. lol. Haven't watched them yet though.

Yup...I had no idea until I was way into the book. Of course, we should always expect SK to connect his books somehow. I'm not surprised. Still plan to read the trilogy.
Only 3 borrows!? I wonder why it's so low for you? Glad you were able to get them on DVD though.

It's a pretty small library. Actually my 3 local libraries (across 2 towns) don't have access to Hoopla so I'm using my brother's library card for his town because his town has access to it. But yeah, only 3 borrows a month. They pay per borrow so I can see why they want to keep it low.

lol I read every chance I get! Plus I'm an introvert so I don't like going out. Have been lately though because my husband started playing Pokemon Go with me and we "have" to get out every day. But I'd still rather be home reading!
My number aren't *that* impressive. Quite a few graphic novels (10), a book of poetry, and 2 cookbooks. And 9 were audiobooks. So I only physically read 7. lol.

Message 4 above is my #Wintersrespite Reading. 📚 I'm happy for a great book/audio leap into this new year.
Thanks for providing the opp + motivation Michelle!
