I am always so happy when I see Berlin Alexanderplatz on a list

Barbie (barbieofmpls) | 7 comments I'm still reading Berlin Alexanderplatz, but I've also taken up Rainer Maria Rilke's The Notebooks of Malte Laurids Brigge

Barbie (barbieofmpls) | 7 comments Sorry to say that Berlin Alexanderplatz was a DNF for me. I am a vegan, so when I happened upon the chapter about animal slaughter I just couldn't go forward. I can't view the topic with any sense of humor whatsoever. So I'm now reading The Nibelungenlied instead. I know that is an epic story of murder and revenge, but somehow it just isn't as bad as the serial murder of innocent animals.
