This was such a fast paced book and I had such a good time reading. I don’t usually read thrillers, but thrilling seems like an understatement for No Exit. I feel like I just breezed through this book, but I did have to put it down a few times because everything was just way too intense for me. I’d heard from a few people that this book was pretty violent and I didn’t think twice about it because I watch that kind of stuff in movies all the time and it doesn’t bother me. It was a whole different thing reading it though.
A enjoyable read overall, but I don’t think I’d ever be able to give a book that isn’t super character driven a five stars. The main girl we follow, Darby, is okay but her character isn’t really fleshed out. And she doesn’t need to be for the story to work, it’s just a personal preference. The only real problem I had with the book was the ending. Everything just felt so over the top all of a sudden and possible minor spoiler here: I don’t like endings where everything feels like its been wrapped up nicely, I prefer a messier slightly more open ending.
I’d still definitely recommend it to anyone who thinks it sounds interesting. I think I’ve just about convinced my mom to check it out lol
