Clerah Wow I can't believe that this wasn't on here yet. Fringe premieres tonight at nine EST.

So are you watching it this season?

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 253 comments Love this series!!! And last night's episode was awesome! So many times I found myself saying WTF!!??

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Does anyone else think Peter and Olivia have no chemistry?

I was cracking up at Walter eating a twizzler while conducting an autopsy. Hello? Ick!

Where was the Watcher in this episode?

***Semi-Spoiler***

I don't know, I thought they had a little bit of chemistry in this episode.

I felt so bad for Olivia in the beginning. I've never seen her so shaken up. But she's back!!!

Is anyone else sad about Charlie- I really liked him. I love the conversation he and Olivia have in the hospital room.

I did notice the Watcher was MIA.

By the way wouldn't I like a typewriter like the one in this episode. So retro, yet so futuristic. :)

message 5: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments That was freaky as hell when she came flying out of an empty car! I was expecting it and yet it was still a crazy moment.

Typewriter was indeed cool.

I saw the switcheroo coming. That is going to cause major intrigue and upset, hmn?

I kinda like the new chick. She's so a Mulder wannabe.

I was cracking up at Astrid making the custard. I sincerely hope they use her more this season! She's cute.

And when is Peter going to find out who he REALLY is!

message 6: by Sally (new)

Sally (larwos) | 258 comments We got the first series of "Fringe" during the summer season where they hide series they aren't sure will be watched in prime time and we loved it!
Series two sounds great and I'll have my fingers crossed that we get that soon.

message 7: by Cyndi (new)

Cyndi (CNorwood) | 98 comments I love this show. I am really glad to see Joshua Jackson again after Dawson's Creek. I know he's been in a few movies since then as well. I did see some chemistry with Olivia and Peter in this last episode, when he said "I missed you Olivia Dunham." I also love how at the end of the episode Peter saved the day by saving the Fringe program itself with that "new tech from the alternate reality/universe.) What a knight in shining armor moment.

message 8: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments I was surprised by Jackson. I hated Dawson's Creek, so I was prepped to dislike him, but he's very good!

message 9: by Cyndi (new)

Cyndi (CNorwood) | 98 comments oh my GOD I loved Dawson's Creek I have no idea why but I did and Pacy/Joshua Jackson was Awesome in that show. But back to Fringe. I really am starting to love Peter's character. I know that in real life the actress that plays Olivia married the guy that was her boyfriend in this show at the beginning of season 1. Mark Valley see pics here http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0885090/me... he reminds me of the guy in Hung on HBO or the lead guy in Euryeka but I really do see a connection on the show between Olivia and Peter. They are building it slowly, very slowly just like w/Scully and Moulder in the X-files. I love it.

message 10: by Cyndi (new)

Cyndi (CNorwood) | 98 comments Very cute but I would rather she get together with Joshua.

okay explain the switcheroo to me please : )

Is Charlie the bad guy or is the bad guy in his body.

I screamed when she flew out of the car. She did a great job with her scenese in the hospital, I felt her pain.

I just hope this time slot doesnt kill the show, Fox never leaves things alone. It will be on agianst Supernatural, Csi and Greys anatomy.

I liked it when it was house/fringe or bones/fringe better.

message 14: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Lol.

Well, we saw in the beginning that the baddie used his device to morph his body so he could look like someone else.

So, as the nurse, he jumped Charlie, used the device on him, and so the baddie now looks just like Charlie. The real one is dead.

Bye bye, good Charlie! Hello, alt-universe assassin with Charlie's face!

message 15: by Sally (new)

Sally (larwos) | 258 comments Now that IS scary! Cant wait for our next series to start.

somehow I missed that, Isn't he married?

message 17: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments He IS! And the chick that played his wife is wifey in real life.

message 18: by Clerah (new)

Clerah So I've heard the theory that Peter is a clone. But at what age do you think it happened, if it happened? In tonight episode he recalls buying a fishing lure (which was amazing) so that he could spend time with his dad, Walter. So sometime after 10?

I miss the real Charlie. Maybe the alternate universe Charlie can come to "this" universe...so many possibilities.

I found Sam intriguing...it will be interest to see how that story develops!

Poor Astrid she get's all the dirty work...slimy frogs - yuck!

Last thought. I wonder why Olivia can hear things so well, and what purpose is serves.

message 19: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Bowling alley...bizarre place to meet someone who's going to help you with an alt-uni hangover!

There was this scene last season...but I don't know if I dreamt it because no one else seems to remember it! I thought I recalled multiple Peters in beds in a hospital-like setting. Does that ring a bell, or did I imagine it?

But from the fact that last season, we saw Peter's headstone and that Walter is always checking on Peter's health, I figure that our-universe Peter was a sickly child and died. And maybe that's precisely what prompted Walter to try inter-dimensional travel to begin with and he kidnapped alt-Peter.

My theory makes me wonder though if there's an alt-Walter out there seeking his Peter.

Charlie looked really worse-for-wear! I wonder if this shape-changing alt-agent HAS to change regularly? Or did something go wrong in the transformation?

I want Astrid to get her own episode. They need to use her more than for stirring and catching ribbits!

message 20: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephanie_julian) | 108 comments I'm pretty sure Peter is from the alt-verse and his real father, the alt-Walter will be showing up to retrieve him. Unless Walter killed him. And why are there not two William Bell's?

Can you tell I love Fringe?

message 21: by Starling (new)

Starling I'd expect that one of the William Bells has died, just like one of the Peters died. And I'm sure that the "other" Walter is missing his Peter as much as this world's Walter missed his son.

One thing I don't get with this show is all of the ugly stuff. You don't need it if the main thrust of the show is alternate universes. And it made me stop watching for a while last year.

message 22: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Ugly stuff? You mean as in visual gross-outs like the creature?

Oh, and for a hot minute I was speculating that either alt-Walter is evil, OR the ZFP war is BECAUSE our Walter stole alt-Peter.

Ana (anacnunes) Michelle M. wrote: "Does anyone else think Peter and Olivia have no chemistry?

I also don't see any chemestry there. Their relationship, if at all happens, will seem weird to me.
And yes, Walter can be very creepy at times and I kept staring at the twizzler hoping he wouldn't put it in his mouth, but guess he didn't hear my prayers. XD

message 24: by Starling (new)

Starling Yes, I think the visual gross-outs are totally unnecessary for the plot lines. I think they are there because someone thinks a "horror" show has to have them or even worse, that all SF is horror.

message 25: by Ann aka Iftcan (new)

Ann aka Iftcan (iftcan) | 2659 comments Mod
Well, Oz claims that its all the fault of "The Hammer" and her avowed hatred of all things SciFi. Admit it guys--since she (Hammer) took over programming at SciFi, it HAS gone seriously downhill. I mean, what in the world does WRESTLING have to do with scifi? Well, unless the way those guys LOOK is supposed to have been achieved with alien help or something. :oS

message 26: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments I think science fiction and horror can go hand in hand at times. It all depends on your perception of the "unknown." X-files, also from Fox, often had gruesome scenes to drive home the idea that the world was filled with the enigma of the "other." Even family-friendly Doctor Who has an ick factor at times. Adding more uglies increases the shock value and does have some place in the realm of the unknown.

In Fringe, we're dealing with an impending war so unsavory images are understandable. They want us to feel on edge, to unsettle us enough that we're concerned about the possibilities. Walter's original work was not rosy in theme and suffered many missteps, so that sets the tone.

Plus there's only so many times you can feature cute things like tribbles before it all gets too cutesy! I rely on Eureka for a friendly dose of science fiction. Sanctuary is another show that strikes a balance between the horrific and the benign. But in those shows, the focus is not particularly on the evil humankind can propagate through technological breakthroughs. In Fringe, it is.

message 27: by Starling (new)

Starling Michelle, sorry, I see no reason for the "uglies" in this show. And you don't have to have "tribbles" in SF either.

There was one episode last year where I thought the "uglies" were totally appropriate for that particular program, but I'm not sure they were necessary for this week's program, or for most of the others.

message 28: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments I'd like more focus on the alt-verse. I suppose they resort to the uglies as a means of filling out the show. You're right that it's not necessary, but I think it's a good way of showcasing the uglier side of unchecked advancement. To each their own!

message 29: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 253 comments I just watched last week's episode last night and can I just say the opening scene totally made me jump!! I LOVE it when shows can do that!:) I am one of those people who like the graphic stuff, but I've always been a bit weird ;)

message 30: by Clerah (new)

Clerah Oh man did you guys see the this weeks episode. I loved loved the scene with Olivia and Sam, where she get up and points the gun at Sam and then turn around and see that she left her cane behind.

Btw, isn't it kinda of strange that for the longest time Walter couldn't remember Astrid's name but now he can remember to call her Agent Farnsworth. How is that any easier to remember than Astrid. *sheesh*

message 31: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Well, Walter's mind is an enigma.
I loved the scene where he tells Peter to be discreet about eating his cheeseburger.

But I'm completely confused about The Observers. From Walter's interaction with one last season, I thought they were just objective spectators, or perhaps there to maintain some sort of balance between our universe and the alt-verse. But now they are out to detroy us? Powder wants to eradicate us?!

Crazy!

message 32: by Starling (new)

Starling I loved the cane scene too. Very realistic, by the way. At one point I had to give up a cane and found myself leaving it and walking away from it. Finally had to put it into the closet and just admit I didn't need it anymore. So when you are first giving it up, you do something and realize that you are here and it is there.

One thing that wasn't realistic about the cane was Olivia using the cane to get up and down stairs instead of using the available railings and banisters. If you need a cane you might use both the cane and the banister, but not just the cane itself. So I wasn't too surprised when she suddenly did not need it.

Not totally sure what Sam actually is doing with or for Olivia although the cane thing is interesting.

Michelle I liked the scene with the cheeseburger as well, although, I found it completely unrealistic that he just dropped it on the table with all the evidence (shattered cop) oops there goes a piece that took hours to put together. Small things like that bug me!

message 34: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments I thought the same thing when he dropped the burger! That, and ewww.

message 35: by Cyndi (new)

Cyndi (CNorwood) | 98 comments First let me just say that I love, love, love Joshua Jackson. Second let me say that I loved the end of last weeks episode because I knew that the briefcase was going to be handed to "the Observer". I just knew it would happen.

message 36: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 253 comments This was a prett interesting episode, but not one of my favs.... I did love the cheeseburger scene too, but yeah dropping it on the evidence, ewww.... I do love this show tho, it's just weird enough to keep you interested ;)

message 37: by Clerah (new)

Clerah Fringe was amazing tonight. I don't have time to say a whole lot tonight...but it was GREAT!

message 38: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 253 comments I must be in a weird mood this week as I thought the latest episode was just OK.... I felt that way about a lot of my fav shows this week, maybe i'm pmsing LOL, LOL

message 39: by Ann aka Iftcan (new)

Ann aka Iftcan (iftcan) | 2659 comments Mod
or maybe all the shows this were WERE just OK. I've often noticed that they seem to schedule the programs like that. There will either be nothing on--or at least, nothing really interesting--or every single thing on is something that you just feel you have GOT TO WATCH!!!. lol, so why not that our fav programs schedule "ok" shows on the same weeks? After all, they shoot them all around the same time. Maybe this was just the weekly shoot where no one was feeling inspired?

message 40: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 253 comments I sure hope you are right about that Ann otherwise I'm going to be very very sad!!:(

message 42: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (trishwilsonelizabethblack) | 42 comments I love "Fringe"!. Especially Walter. I just wish it would move back to Tuesday nights. I hate that it's on Thursday the same time as "Supernatural" and "CSI". I skip "CSI" and watch it online.

message 43: by Starling (new)

Starling I think we are almost due for some really big surprises on Fringe. Including how Walter pulled off taking the other boy from the other universe when his son died in this one.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

I like Fringe but does it bug anyone else that it looks like Olivia (sp?) is always smiling? It bugs the crap out of me! Also I liked Charlie and am still a little ticked that his character was killed off.

message 45: by Starling (new)

Starling Well, last night Olivia finally got to look like someone had beaten her up. Still beautiful, even bloody.

message 46: by Sandy (new)

Sandy (sandila) | 3 comments Love Fringe. My Husband and I watch every episode. This is one show I hope they keep.

message 47: by Damian (new)

Damian Serbu (damianserbu) | 11 comments To me, Fringe is the best show out there right now. It really gets my mind ticking, trying to figure it out. I think it has a great blend of humor, suspense, and intrigue. Kind of X-Files-ish, but not quite THAT good.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Uhhh has anyone watched the new episodes? Like the last couple?

message 49: by Leah (new)

Leah (ling_ling) | 81 comments I loooooove this show.. but I haven't seen the latest episodes yet.. getting my new TV on Monday though so I can finally catch up..

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

I need to talk to someone about the new episodes but I'm the only person I know who watches the show :-( Something is really bugging me
