I was never much good at school and was always at the bottom of the school academically and then around about third year high school I taut myself to read, couldn't really read before that and I went from bottom of the school to top the first book I ever read was The Silver Sword but the first book I ever read that I really loved was Treasure Island I still read it sometimes for the atmosphere in the early chapters and the characters (The Pirates) especially Long John Silver.
Reading eating and cruising it sounds like you love, are you at university or going or working or what?
One of my first jobs was as an all night waiter, I got very good at it, later I was a head barman in Yorkshire England and James Herriot used to come in for a pint, I learnt a lot about the world, people and of course food. When I go to restaurants and hotels now I have a good yarn with the staff they are usually much more interesting than the guests. Cheers Tony
Anne of Green Gables is a very good book.

I adore this book and still own my original copy from the 80's. I was brought up reading and learning to read by my Mum through audiobooks, I remember reading this one and just falling in love with the magic of the story even though in reality the book is full of devesation and loss.....just like real life really. Tought me an excellent lesson.
And I still read it now occassionally when nothing else seems to hold my interest.

Love Bukowski!! Women Ham on Rye
The first series I fell in love with was the Warrior Cat series. I was so obsessed I read all of them.

Oh I have more than one weakness, the fantasy genre in general really. Liked harry potter great ideas from the genre pulled together. But I wanted a red pen to edit it as I was reading. Did she have an editor? I could pull whole chapters out of those books happily.

My favourite book as a child, I just adored fairy tales & the like. I still have the book at home.

I lost my copy a long time ago, but I remember carrying Aesop's Fables with me everywhere and reading them in class. :P

I use to read a lot before but The Hunger Games is what sparked my love for reading again and the rest is history as they say :)

I brought the book in 2009 but I didn't read it till they announced the movie.

Still have my first edition and read it from time to time when no other books can hold my interest.
Raven Hill Mysteries by Emily Rodda
