What comes to mind when you hear the word "green"?
Here's a challenge that celebrates the multiple facets of that verdant hue.
To sign up,..."
Hi everyone! I already picked out my books for this month, but I found that a few of them met the challenges criteria! So I'll sign myself up for
4. Greenland is one of earth’s largest islands. Read a book set on an island, that has the word “land” in the title, or is set in a cold climate.
For this challenge I'm going to be finishing up Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe , which is a classic novel about a man who learned how to live by himself on an island
6. An evergreen is a symbol of strength and survival. Read a book with a strong protagonist or a book about overcoming adversity.
For this challenge I will be reading a Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. This novel is about a young witch who finds an enchanted alchemical manuscript, which sends her on an adventure. There are many beings after this manuscript, so she is diffidently coming up against some adversity.
7. Green can denote youth or inexperience. Read a YA or middle grade book or a book that features a young or naive person as a major character.
For this book I'm going to continue reading Harry Potter et La Coupe de Foudre, the french version of the 4th Harry Potter book. I think Harry counts as a naive major character, don't you?! lol
9. Green is a secondary color made up of blue and yellow. Read a book with blue, yellow, or green on the cover, or that has the words “blue,” “yellow,” or “green” in the title.
For this challenge I'm going to be reading "The Green Mile" by Stephen King. It has the word "Green" in the title AND a green cover.
10. Animals typically use the color green as camouflage. Read a book with an unreliable narrator, that has a character who is hiding something, or that has a character who is or has been in the military.
I might be stretching this challenge a bit because I haven't read that far into the book. But for this challenge I would like to read Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. In this novel, the main protagonist is a policeman named Javert who upholds the law to the T, with absolute no regard to any grey area. He's not in the military, but he is in the police force and I find him to be an unreliable narrator.

2. Many nations use the color green in their flags. Read a book set in a country with green on its flag.
3. Getting the “green light” indicates permission to proceed in safety. Read a book with the words “light” or “go” in the title or a book in which a character’s safety is threatened. - A Conjuring of Light
4. Greenland is one of earth’s largest islands. Read a book set on an island, that has the word “land” in the title, or is set in a cold climate. - A Darker Shade of Magic. It is set in alternate versions of London, which I think still counts since England is an island.
5. Greenpeace is an organization dedicated to protecting the environment. Read a book about environmentalism, nature, or that involves the ocean in some way.
6. An evergreen is a symbol of strength and survival. Read a book with a strong protagonist or a book about overcoming adversity. - A Gathering of Shadows
7. Green can denote youth or inexperience. Read a YA or middle grade book or a book that features a young or naive person as a major character. - American Panda
8. “G” is for green. Read a book by an author whose first or last name starts with the letter “G.”
9. Green is a secondary color made up of blue and yellow. Read a book with blue, yellow, or green on the cover, or that has the words “blue,” “yellow,” or “green” in the title. - Small Admissions
10. Animals typically use the color green as camouflage. Read a book with an unreliable narrator, that has a character who is hiding something, or that has a character who is or has been in the military.
