Hi Everyone! I'm Penny.
When Cyndi decided to start this group on Goodreads, I said, "...Okay."
Now that we're all here, you can use this thread tell us about yourself and welcome new members. Some things you might want to share:
1. Who you are.
2. How long you've been on goodreads.
3. Which of Penny's books you've read (if any).
4. Some of your favorite authors/books.
5. Something weird about yourself... for example, I hate mayonnaise with the fire of a thousand suns.

WELCOME!!! And.... post!

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 79 comments Hi Penny!

I'm Alana Lee Rock, book pimp with a fedora, finder of lost things, 'loonyalana the loony vibrating moon maiden' or sometimes known as Slave-CD-Goddess-Helper-Fairy-Elf. Yeah, I know, I'm a total freak and I own up to that label.

I've been here at GR for... well, shoot... OK, looked it up, apparently I've been here since August 2011. Has it really been so long?

I'm still working my way through all of Penny's books, because I prefer audio, and I'm waiting for audio to catch up and release and all that jazz... but I digress. OK. Penny's books: Neanderthal Seeks Human A Smart Romance (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid (audio), Neanderthal Marries Human A Smarter Romance (Knitting in the City, #1.5) by Penny Reid (eBook), and I've started (currently reading) the eBook of Friends Without Benefits (Knitting in the City, #2) by Penny Reid because I'm just too impatient for the audio, but once that bad boy comes out - it will be mine. Oh, yes. It will be mine.

Favorite authors/books(I'll try and reign myself in but no promises!) (Anytime I list a 'series' book, most likely, I love that entire series.)
Maybe Someday (Maybe, #1) by Colleen Hoover All Broke Down (Rusk University, #2) by Cora Carmack Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison Stars & Stripes (Cut & Run, #6) by Abigail Roux The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley Neanderthal Seeks Human A Smart Romance (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy, #1) by Ilona Andrews Sempre (Forever, #1) by J.M. OK. I'll stop. Breathe easy, ladies. Something weird about myself (teehee, oh the choices) ... during college I actually had - not one - but two, count them, two warrents for my arrest for overdue library books and unpaid fines (the fines totalled less than $20). I shit you not. Oh, and I got a campus parking ticket dismissed by G.W. Bailey (of The Closer and Police Academy movies fame). I've also got to hang out with George Clinton's granddaughter and band P-funk during their mothership landing concert. I totally inhaled.

For more information, you'll just have to ask and draw those stories out naturally. I promise I have more.

Adding Covers 101:
Just above the little box to write your post, or reply, or whatever your heart desire you to write (here on GR), it's in like brown or khaki or some funky ass color, there are the words "add book/author" and "(some html is ok)". If you 'click' on "add book/author" it will bring up a pop-up search. You can choose to search by author, by title, or my favorite- half the title with half the author's name. Then when it shows the book you want to add, go to the BOTTOM of that search/list and make sure 'cover' is 'checked' instead of 'title' and click "add" (on the right - beside the cover you want to add) and * Neanderthal Seeks Human A Smart Romance (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid * Voila!

5. Something weird about yourself... ? oh I'm very creepy, I have more Doctor Who goodies per square meter at home than anybody ^^ I always have a screwdriver in my purse, more Dalek pets than real pets I had in my life (1 cat when I was young vs 6 Daleks)...

also I could read for many hours in a row, only stopping because I'm hungry. most sunday I only do 3 things : sleeping, reading, eating. #hermitunited

Quinn Fforde | 16 comments Hi, everyone! I am Quinn Fforde, and I have no idea how long I have been on GR. I don't really know how to use it effectively, so I might as well be new. I have read all of Penny's books, and I intend to keep it that way as long as she keeps writing! I am all over the place on favorite authors. Jane Austen, Dostoevsky, D. H. Lawrence, L. M. Montgomery, P. G. Wodehouse, Julia Quinn, Kasey Michaels, Jennifer Crusie, and Jasper Fforde are all on my keeper shelves with Penny. The most unusual thing about me is that I have 6 kids, and there was a year when I had a high schooler, middle schooler, elementary schooler, preschooler, toddler, and infant in my house. We were a living, breathing developmental psychology book!

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 79 comments Nanou - I wholeheartedly support your love of all things Doctor Who, and gladly share it! I'm even raising my minion children to be lovers of Doctor Who. My youngest son's request when sitting on Santa's lap: 2 sonic screwdrivers, a fez, and a remote control Tardis.

We've got the sonic screwdrivers on their way to us, I've been waiting for the fez to ship for days now... and the remote control Tardis? Well, he's 6 and it's about time he learns that you don't always get everything you ask for from Santa. But we did get him this to try and help make up for it:

4. Anne Bishop, Phillip Pullman, Penny Reid (duh?), Richelle Mead. A whole lot more. I go through phases.

2. 2011. Not quite sure how I ever existed without goodreads, however.
3. Penny? Who's Penny? Just kidding. I've read everything. I'm slightly ridiculous.
4. Currently? Ilona Andrews. I also enjoy Jeaniene Frost, Jennifer Armentrout, Wendy Higgins, J.R. Ward, Karina Halle, Charlaine Harris, Patrick Rothfuss, Chloe Neill, Darynda Jones, Laurell K. Hamilton, Karen Marie Moning, Jim Butcher, and Gena Showalter.(I'm cutting myself off there).
5. As a teenager, my friends and I had a nasty habit of stealing lawn ornaments and relocating them to new homes. One may or may not have been a cow, and it may or may not have ended up in one of the snotty girls from high schools front lawn. It was, however, symbolic. As an adult, I feel sort of bad about this. Most of the time. Not the cow, though. NOT THE COW!

I have NEVER heard anyone else mention Jasper Fforde, I love his books but nobody ever knows who he is....I just mentioned to Penny that she should give the Thursday Next series a try, I think she would enjoy the humor/quirkiness. I met him at a signing at Murder by the book many years ago, maybe around 2003ish, he was so awesome to listen to and he had these fun stamps he used with his signing...I wish he'd come back around!

Welcome, Roobarb :-D

I, also, can't read horror. But I do read Steven King. I feel like he straddles the line (sometimes) between literary fiction and horror quite well (e.g. Misery or The Stand)

Dean koontz straddles that line, too... although a few of his books can be a little 'religiousy'... that's word, right? Well it is now. But Odd Thomas I thought was a nice mix, but oh, the tears! But, my first reading 'love' was horror. I was one of those bizzare elementary and junior high kids that sucked down horror and Poe and King and all kinds of crazy. Now I'm all about the romance.... which is really weird. I used to totally secretly mock my mother and her bodice-ripper romance books. Well played, karma. Well played.

I have to admit... several books ago I stoped reading because he was getting too preachy for me. That, and I've kind of gotten addicted to romance, and romance is not Koontz's strong suit. At all.

(Don't be afraid, Miz Penny, I'm harmless) My favorite books are all of Ed McBain' s 87th Precinct novels (He Who Hesitates was a little disappointing, though) All of Julie Garwood' s historical, Lisa Kleypas' historical, Jane Austen' s Persuasion, Mary Shelley' s Frankenstein (gah, I loved it!)- as a matter of fact my top 3 reads are Beauty and the Mustache, Frankenstein and Persuasion. I love Roxie Rivera's Her Russian protector series and the Fighting Connolly series. Since joining GR, I've discovered that my mission in life is to find really good BBW romances. It's slim and sad pickings out there, but luckily Angela Verdenius keeps churning out funny and sexy BBW books that hit the spot.

Elle Rush (ellerush) | 11 comments Hi, everybody! I bought the Knitting in the City box set when it was on sale at the beginning of the year. Then I read it, and bought and read books 2, 3 and 4 last weekend. Aside from that, I accomplished nothing for 2 days. I think I came out ahead. Anyway.

1. Hi, I'm Elle. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
2. I've been on Goodreads since May 2013
3. All the Knitting books. I've finished my rereads of Neanderthal Seeks Human A Smart Romance (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid and Neanderthal Marries Human A Smarter Romance (Knitting in the City, #1.5) by Penny Reid and I'm into Friends Without Benefits (Knitting in the City, #2) by Penny Reid . I'm doing an immediate reread because I loved them so much I only skimmed them the first time. This time I want to enjoy every juicy word.
4. Among others, I love to read Nalini Singh, Kristen Ashley, Roxie Rivera, JD Robb and Jane Ausent
5. I hate eggs. All kinds and styles of eggs. (except Cadbury).

Nicole (nicoliaspicolia) I was looking at my feed and saw Sharks of Awesome group, I was like YES, I must join, I'm a shark!! I came to join and I'm already a member! So yayyyy for that and eeeeek for my memory. While I'm here, might as well introduce myself!

1. I'm Nicole. I live in/near Sacramento, California.
2. I've been on Goodreads since 2012.
3. I've read all of Penny's books...that I know of...
4. My favorite book is Ferdinand the Bull by Munro Leaf. I love lots of other books, mainly romance books, thrillers and dystopians. I'd say my favorite authors these days are Penny (not just blowing smoke) and Christina Lauren.
5. I hate the sound of cardboard. Ripping. Boxes being put together. Taken apart. All of it.

Hilary (redandvine) | 1 comments Good morning, my name is Hilary and I'm a big fan. I've really enjoyed the books in the Knitting series and I would be hard pressed to decide on a favourite. Looking forward to being part of this group.

Poonam (goodreadscomuser_poonamnebhnani) | 1 comments 1. Hey. I am Poonam
2. Been on GoodReads since September 2012
3. I have read all of Penny's books published as yet and will read all published in the future.
4. Some of favorite authors are Nalini Singh, Karen Marie Moning, Larissa Ione, Heather Killough-Walden, Penny Reid, Samantha Young, Amy Harmon, Kristen Ashley, Shelly Laurenston and Paulo Coelho. I love almost all of their books. Apart from their's, some books and series I like are Stage Dive Series by Kylie Scott, Until Series by Aurora Rose Reynolds, The English Brothers by Katy Regnery, Off Series by Sawyer Bennett, The Wallbanger by Alice Clayton, My Coyote Ugly Life by Jessica Spoon and Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren.
That was too much I guess.
5. I don't like anything out of order but I don't have OCD. My brother takes too much of an advantage of the fact.

Jane | 3 comments Hi! I'm Jane (and you don't pronounce it the way americans or english pronounce it... Don't really know how to explain the correct pronounciation, but in any case, you know now not to pronounce it that way :D ).
I think I've been on Goodreads for about 3 and a half years now, maybe a bit longer and I love it here. Don't really know how I got my book recommendations earlier. o.O
As any good fan, I've read each and every of Penny's books I've been able to get my hands on. In fact, I just ordered paperback copies of her books and I should receive NSH in 9 days or so.
I have tons of books and authors I really like, but only a handful of those I really love... In some authors case I love all of their works (e.g. Penny Reid and Jane Austen), but in some cases I seem to love only a couple of their books (e.g. R. Lee Smith's The Last Hour of Gann and Sarra Manning's You Don't Have to Say You Love Me).
Weird thing about me: I'm a bit like Janie from Penny's KitC series since I *may* be prone to saying some really random tidbits about this or that. For instance, we were playing disc golf at our christmas event at work and whilst playing I randomly asked if it was either Betula pubescens (European white birch) or Betula pendula (Silver birch) right next to us. I was really intrigued which one it was and I had been thinking real hard about it for good five minutes when I finally asked about it from my colleagues, but for some reason they started laughing out loud. o.O

Kristal & Charmaine | 1 comments Hi everyone!!!

I'm Charmaine, one of the 3 of us here at our blog. Nice to be part of this group!

I've been on GR for a couple of years personally but under the blog handle for the last year. Couldn't live without it!

I've read every Penny Reid book I can get my hands on! And am also happily guilty of re-reading them. A lot.

I have too many favorite authors to list! Seriously! Obviously Penny Reid is on that list, Roald Dahl, Kate Atkinson, Nicole Peeler, Ilona Andrews, Tara Sivec, I could keep on!

Ok weird thing... I have extreme velvet issues. As in if I touch velvet or anything with a similar texture eg a peach, then my hands and teeth start hurting(?) and I feel like throwing up. I have NO idea why. One time a family member put my baby in a velour outfit and I almost collapsed in horror. Just writing this makes me feel gross....

Jane (janekr25) | 5 comments Hi Sharkies!
1. I am Jane (also a member of FB sharks)
2. I officially joined Goodreads in April of 2014, but used it to get book suggestions, reviews, and book lists for years before!!!
3. Read all of Penny Reid's books (because they are super awesome!!!) and cannot wait for all the greatness that is coming this year and next and the one after that!!!
4. I have sooo many favorites, of course including Penny Reids books... some others would be The History of Love by Nicole KraussThe History of Love, all of Tara Sivecs booksTara Sivec, Deborah Harkness books Deborah Harkness ,Kim Harrison books Kim Harrison... goodness the list will go on endlessly so I will stop myself but so many more, you can check out my profile to see the books I loved.
5. Something weird... hmm I just got my tongue re-pierced... so weird I know, but I had it for 14 years and then felt it was time to let it go... but after a year I missed it, so I did it again and now its taking forever to heal, so I'm lisping every time I talk. Apparently I am stuck as a 90's teenager in my head. Definitely time to grow up... but I don't want to :)
