I have American Indian Stories, Legends, and Other Writings waiting to be read.

This is an author I was not aware of previously. I would love to join a group read.

I've only read a couple of Native American authors; one novel by Louise Erdrich and all the novels by Leslie Marmon Silko. I would love to expand on that.

I'm so glad! And I also want to read more Native American writers. We'll see if anyone wants to join us. Any preferences on timing for a Zitkala-Ša group read?

I will be reading her this year for sure - don't have any preferences for timing, so am happy to follow your lead.

I actually have a book called "Reckonings: a Collection of Short Fiction by Native American Women" (I'm sure about the "Reckonings" part, may have goofed the second, but two of the three editors are Wong and Magdalena).

It's "Contemporary Short Fiction by NA Women", but she's not in there.

January wouldn't work (I've a couple books scheduled to be read in January and I'm not the speediest of readers) but all other months are open.

Also, I started a Leslie Marmon Silko thread if you are interested in a group read of any of her works.

I could do a read in March or April, or anytime from June on through the rest of the year.

OK, I just looked at the group reads already scheduled, and it looks like June and August don't have as many as some other months. Would June work for a read of Zitkala-Ša, and then we could schedule a slower read of Silko's Almanac of the Dead (see the Silko thread) for the fall, perhaps October and November?

Oh, I was not aware of Susan Power. You are right, she does look wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
