Camp Half-Blood discussion

If you would like to roleplay one of the characters from the books (i.e. Percy, Grover, etc.) please come here and ask one of the mods! We will tell you if there is already someone roleplaying that character, or if it is yours for the taking!

In the past, there were many problems with keeping to the characters of these originals, so when you ask a mod for a specific character, that mod will test you on your ability to write and understand the character.




* Means that they are occupied at this time. We do conduct a monthly sweep through though, so any character that is not used for more than 31 days will automatically be given up for grabs again.

Hi Firestar. I just need to test you for the character. In Percy's character, can you write a paragraph of dialogue, one of thought, and one interacting with other friends/campers?

could you extend your definition by those means please so i understand properly? im not sure what you mean by dialogue and thought, but i do know how percy acts, and thinks and behaves interacting with campers, if you need an example of how i would play percy around other characters i will gladly do so

Can you write one paragraph that is only dialogue, demonstrating how Percy would talk? The second paragraph would purely demonstrate how Percy thinks. These paragraphs can be about any subject as long as they demonstrate that you can write and understand the character.

is it possible you and i could practice rp with him? so this way i can show you in action what i can do?

May I be tested for the role of Calypso? I may not be abe to do paragraphs, but will a few sentences work? If not, let me know and I will try my best. :)

Sorry I haven't responded to this, Firestar. Since the two of you are interested in roleplaying original characters, why don't you roleplay Percy and Calypso interacting. Then, I can test the two of you separately. I would prefer if we stuck to the paragraphs- 1 purely of dialogue and 1 purely of thought along with the interactive one- already mentioned, because this will show how well you can stay in character Percy and Calypso consistently for a chunk of time.

For this test, please try to have a five-sentence minimum. I have also noticed that you haven't been very active in the group. We will be checking up on how often you use these original characters and if you want to continue roleplaying one, you will need to make sure you are actively roleplaying him/her.

You can use html, but I usually just skip a line between paragraphs.

You can also create your own character too. I highly recommend you also create your own characters too, because only roleplaying an original can very limited. You can go to this link if you want to create your own character. The rules for character creation are at the top along with an outline. If you do, let me know the name and godly parent of your character in the Character List.

yikes sorry i was in the middle of a class! and you can base it on whatever you like, it can be just general day to day things about camp, or anything really.

Annabeth stared at the water trying to come up with a plan for Capture the Flag. We could set up guards there but they would probably suspect that... She sighed, she didn't like it when she didn't know things. I might as well take a break she thought rolling up the paper she was writing on. Annabeth had a date with Percy tonight and didn't want to be late. She sighed again and stood up. She thought for a second deciding wether to go to the big house or her cabin it doesn't matter she thought to herself walking across the field. Annabeth pushed the thought from her mind and thought about how she could startle Percy in the most scary way on their date. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts she didn't notice that she had made it to the Big House and almost ran into the railing well that's what happens when you're planing to hard she thought stupidly and she straitened and walked in.

yeah but how would I do that cause I would need someone else to play the other side of the conversation

Sorry if I am overstepping, Beth. I don't know if this would help or not, but have you heard of soliloquy? Maybe you could try a paragraph of dialogue where she is talking to herself?

sure! you'll just need to do one paragraph to demonstrate how piper would think, and another paragraph to demonstrate piper's dialogue (i'd recommend a situation where she's talking to herself, that is probably easiest!), and then i'll do a roleplay with you to see how you roleplay as piper with other campers :)

Is Hazel taken?

No, she isn't. I am going to have to test you on your understanding of her though, but I am going offline soon. The test requires a paragraph of thought, a paragraph of dialogue and a more interactive roleplay with another camper in Hazel's character.

If you would like to start roleplaying sooner, I would recommend creating a character of your own first in the meantime.
