Cheryl (cherylllr) Funny, You Don't Look Autistic: A Comedian's Guide to Life on the Spectrum by Michael McCreary looks wonderful. I will be reading it along with thousands of other patron users of Overdrive and Libby across the country. Join us!

Cheryl (cherylllr) Oh that's a fun quick read. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in diversity, memoirs, performance arts.... It's not perfect, but it is rich in ideas and more than worth the few hours it'll take to read or listen to it.

Good choice to help you get used to reading on your tablet, too, if you're not familiar with ebooks, as it's so straightforward.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Ok, one of the (many) bits I really liked was the quick and clear distinction between Meltdown and Tantrum. The former is something that the child/ person can't really control, the latter is manipulative. It's a distinction worth noting about everyone, not just about kids with ASD.

The other bit I marked:

"Is Everyone a Little Autistic? ... no... Still, while not everyone is autistic, it is good to notice the things we share in common so we can find ways to connect."
