Scott County Readers discussion

Hello Scott County Readers!

Since we physically cannot come together to meet in the cafe the first Tuesday of the month - for how many months we do not know - here is a virtual version of our discussion we would have normally had this past Tuesday. For those of you who were able to get a print copy before we had to close to in-person business - great! For those who were not able to pick up a printed copy we do have this book available via Overdrive/Libby through SCPL so feel free to check it out that way as well. We can have our book discussion another way - at least for now! We will see how we can continue to "meet" and discuss books as we figure out how to negotiate through these trying times.

I will have to start this off to say this about The Language of Flowers - the main character, Victoria, was impossible for me to like - not only could I just not identify with her convoluted ways of thinking but her actions just left me cold - which made me really ambivalent towards her story. Did anyone else just think she was written just too over the top? Or am I alone in intensely disliking her?
