What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I trying to find a series that i read, the lead character is a female, she lives near a cemetary and there is a strange homeless man that watches over her. Her next door neighbour is a big guy, who doesnt want problems with the law.

I can remember a bar where her snitch hangs out who is call Red and turns out to be a werewolf and something happens with her home in that it gets set on fire?

Ive been through my library and cant seem to find the series but i think it was quite popular in this genre.
