From the onset, Sebastian and others were desperately trying to find Ji, the young child that had accompanied Nicholas. Did that add a layer of tension to the story for you? What were your fears?

Jo Ann (jojog) | 72 comments Oh for sure!! I was so worried about Ji, it just broke my heart. I was so worried something terrible was going to happen.

So was I, Jo Ann!! I just knew Ji was going to be harmed and it made me nervous throughout, so much so that I was tempted to skip to the end to find out😏

Joanna | 139 comments It broke my heart from the begging to the end. A small child in a foreign land? And then reading about her heartbreak over Nicholas's death. I worried what would happen to her.

You describe that well, Joanna. All of it was in the background of my fears.

Phrynne | 607 comments I was like you Jonetta. I almost skipped ahead to make sure she was alright!

And I never do that!

Phrynne | 607 comments I try not to but sometimes the temptation is too much. And I am always sorry I did it because it ruins the book!

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 242 comments The way children were killed in previous books, I was sure Ji wasn't going to make it. I sat on pins and needles until Hero pulled her gun on the men chasing Ji. At that point, I thought there was a chance she would live.

Sharon, that situation kept me on edge for the entire book.
