What books are you reading with more than 500 pages? What recommendations do you have?

I think I'll reread/finish this one. I started it a while back got about a chapter in then got sidetracked and didn't get back to it in time(library ebook). I have it on hold from the library again :)

ok moving this one to the trilogy prompt. Off to find a new 500+ page book :)

I'm going to read Winter's Tale. I got it from my Secret Santa at the office. (It was on my wish list.)

I might try Under the Dome by Stephen King. It is actually over 1,000 pages and I own it in hardcover. It will most likely just stay at home and I will read it there instead of lugging it around, so it may take me all year to read. lol

I'll read a Stephen King too, 11/22/63, and I think I'm gonna start the challenge with it.

Possible books: Ken Follett "Winter of the World" and George R.R. Martin "A Clash of Kings". Am obviously way behind with both series.

I'm leaning towards The Crimson Petal and the White. I've started it a couple of times but have never finished.

I read Under the Dome a few years ago. It's a good read but it is definitely long! I couldn't imagine lugging the hardcover around either.

I'm torn between wanting to read this book and not wanting to relive Katrina. I lived in New Orleans at the time and it's not a period I want or need to revisit, though I feel I should, to see how it compares to my experience of the storm.

I have heard good things about the book. I've also heard real stories from nurses and doctors not part of the book who were either at Baptist or other hospitals dealing with similar issues.

My edition of Little Women is exactly 501 pages, so I'm planning on going with that!

I lived in Houston during Katrina, which of course was refugee /evacuee central. I feel far enough removed from the event to enjoy the book, yet close enough to the event to relive some of the tension of that time.

I will read A Clash of Kings by George R R Martin. :)

Skinny Dip It seems to be a fairly quick read so far, and it's keeping my interest.

I've been reading the Outlander series since summer, and am halfway through book 5 right now, so one of the books will definitely go towards this prompt.

I love big books and I have tons (literally) of them laying around. I got Lamentation by CJ Sansom for Christmas so it might be that one.

I think I'm going to finish up Eleanor of Acquitaine by Alison Weir. It's just over 500 pages.

I'm torn between:
1. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy (because this is also an antonym title, maybe save it for later?)
2. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
3. The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber

Anyone read these?

I'm planning to read Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander Series Book 8) by Diana Gabaldon for this one. I anxiously awaited it's release, have owned it for a few months and have yet to start it.

To be honest, I am eying one of the longer books by Bill Bryson. They are easy and fun and a pleasure to get through.

I'm reading Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Soy: Four Women Undercover in the Civil War. It's really interesting

For this, I'm currently reading 5 Kopeken by Sarah Stricker.

I was already reading IT by Stephen King when 2015 began, so I think I'm gonna use it as my 500 page book (and I have 500 of about 1000 pages to go)

I'm torn between Life After Life and the Golem and the Jinni. Has anyone read either of these?

I absolutely loved The Golem and The Jinni.

I also have this book....but as my 'A Book that Scares You'. I reckon it will take me about 3 weeks to finish! It's a hefty read :)

I read "A Feast For Crows" by George R R Martin

I finished "the silkworm", by Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling) for this first category! I really liked the book! :) (but the first is better, maybe)

Finished "Winter of the World" by Ken Follett, book two in the Century Trilogy. Loved it like the first one and am looking forward to the release of the third in the paperback edition I own the others in.

I just finished Voyager (Outlander, book 3). I think this is my favorite of the series so far. Definitely requires suspending disbelief, but it is a fun ride :)

I'm not trying to split hairs but I think the Golem and the Jinni is just under 500. I'm reading it now and not loving it :/ I was going to use it as my "non human characters" book.

I am starting with this one. Reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King. It's about 800 pages. Reading it for another book club so it's a perfect way to start this challenge.

I'm reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I thought I would get the longest book on my list done first.

Just finished The Way We Live Now by Anthony Trollope that came in at just over 500 pages. I have recently discovered him and thoroughly enjoyed the whole of the Barchester series and this one which I believe is a stand alone. If you are looking for a thriller over 500 pages - I could recommend I Am Pilgrim - I enjoyed it last summer, but don't think its a bedtime, one chapter a night read. I think it should be read in chunks.

How exactly do you determine if the book is 500 + pages? I realize how goofy this sounds but I'm reading a book that, according to Goodreads is 599 pages. I have the physical hard-bound book and it is 469. Just FYI, it's The House at Riverton. I'm not trying to miss out on the 'spirit ' of this but... out of curiosity, what would you do?

The math teacher in me says you average it out and get 534 pages, so it's good to go!

I read The Ashes of Worlds by Kevin J. Anderson. I'm going to read The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson soon, though for a different challenge, but you can read it for this challenge; it has 1005 pages.

I read The Goldfinch for this prompt. 8/12/15...I am moving The Goldfinch to "a Pulitzer Prize winner. I just read A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara which has 720 pages.

Currently reading The Lord of the Rings which is 1031 pages, but I really wanted to read it, so here goes nothing!

I think it's whatever you feel goes along with the spirit of the challenge without making you feel like you are cheating. I think the challenge of this prompt is to read a long book. I think 469 is long enough to count!

I read Insurgent, the 2nd in the Divergent series. It was a fast read.

I have two Walter Isaacson biographies (Benjamin Franklin, Steve Jobs). Both are 500+ pages.
