Safa | 3 comments I'm going to read Mistwalker by Saundra Mitchell. Took me a while to find an author with my initials.

Eirin,
If you enjoy historical fiction you could read something by Edith Pargeter

Nenda | 21 comments Nicole wrote: "I don't know any authors with my initials. N F. Any suggestions?"

My initial is NIF. I didn't find anyone with the initial (until that link is given), but I have decided to read Stardust by Neil Gaiman.

Or maybe I could read something from Ian Fleming.

message 17: by Lauri (new)

Lauri Anna wrote: "I get married in February so I get extra choice! A.C or A.W"

Congratulations Anna! I am also getting married this year and I guess that means I also get an extra choice, L.H. or L.C.

message 21: by Alexis (last edited Feb 09, 2015 10:58AM) (new)

Alexis O (saboknits) | 76 comments My initials are AO and I just looked through my possibilities, not good: foreign language, medical, something about nuclear non-proliferation. It works out to maybe two choices, a 250 page poem or a book on faith and religion. Not my normal go-to reading.

Well, thank goodness for that fantasticfiction website. Looks like I'll read something by Anne O'Brien. Hope I like whatever it is.

message 22: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Bramble | 2 comments I am stuck on SB

message 23: by Alexis (new)

Alexis O (saboknits) | 76 comments Sarah wrote: "I am stuck on SB"

I can't attest to how good all these authors are, but:
Samuel Beckett
Sally Beauman
Steven Barnes
Stephen Baxter

message 24: by Charline (new)

Charline (charline84) | 29 comments My initials are CA, so read some Cecelia Aherne for the first time and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Didn't think it would be my type of book, but I enjoyed it and will definitely read more of her books in the future.

message 25: by Juanita (last edited Feb 15, 2015 01:35PM) (new)

Juanita (juanitav) | 744 comments I found this site text which helped me identify Jules Verne as my JV.

message 26: by Catie (new)

Catie (gollywollypogs) | 13 comments I was late to the challenge but funnily enough found I'd already read a book this year by an author with my initials. India Black was a vey enjoyable historical romp.

message 27: by Lori (new)

Lori | 1 comments Thank you so much for this link ~ http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk! I was having a challenge finding an author let alone a book and I now have 4 authors to choose from!

message 28: by Luella (new)

Luella This was really hard. After looking and looking I finally found and decided on a book by Liz Pichon.

message 29: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana (pluidenovembre) | 29 comments I spent a few days looking for one and then I realized I already had one: Look Who's Back, by Timur Vermes.

message 30: by Ray (new)

Ray Jordan (rjordan1041) My initials are R J. Any suggestions?

message 31: by Alexis (new)

Alexis O (saboknits) | 76 comments Ray wrote: "My initials are R J. Any suggestions?"
I've only read Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time books, but enjoyed it. Here is a short list of a couple of options.

Robert Jordan
Robin Jarvis
Rachel Joyce
Rachael Johns
Ronald Johnson

message 32: by Alexis (new)

Alexis O (saboknits) | 76 comments I'm not going to criticize the book i read except to say, my husband's initials are GO, so he got to read George Orwell. I had a very difficult time finding an AO that I was willing to read. I read The Keys to My Diary by Ann Omasta. It was a quick read that I finished reading and was able to move on from immediately to my next book.

message 33: by sophia (new)

sophia (sophiastanton) My initials are SS, and I'm really stuck.

message 34: by Jazs (new)

Jazs I'm planning on reading The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival by John Vaillant for this one.

message 35: by Alexis (new)

Alexis O (saboknits) | 76 comments Sophia wrote: "My initials are SS, and I'm really stuck."

I haven't read any of these authors, but maybe one of them will appeal to you. Good luck. I hope you find something enjoyable to read.

Sarah Silverman
Stephen Sondheim
Steven Spielberg
Suzanne Steele

message 36: by Melody (new)

Melody | 208 comments Sophia wrote: "My initials are SS, and I'm really stuck."

You could always try reading something by Shel Silverstein like The Giving Tree or Where the Sidewalk Ends.

If you don't mind crude humor, I know a lot of people who like The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee by Sarah Silverman, as mentioned above. You could also count it for the memoir and funny book categories if you wished.

message 38: by Melanie (new)

Melanie I read Lost by Michael Robotham for this prompt.

message 39: by Mpc (new)

Mpc Hi! My initials are M P C. Do you have any suggestions? :D

message 40: by Juanita (new)

Juanita (juanitav) | 744 comments I don't think you should worry about the middle initial. Some ideas are Michael Crichton, Michael Cunningham, Michael Connelly, Michael Chabon ...

message 41: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I agree, Juanita. That would make it far too difficult. If the author doesn't use his middle initial, neither should you. Some parents don't even believe in middle initials.

message 42: by Mooni (new)

Mooni (padfootmoony) | 13 comments Any suggestions with VT, please? And I guess it could also be A and M. Thank you!

message 43: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Victoria Thompson if you like historical mysteries.

message 44: by Melody (new)

Melody | 208 comments Mpc wrote: "Hi! My initials are M P C. Do you have any suggestions? :D"

You could always read The Hours by Michael Cunningham, The Blazing World and Other Writings by Margaret Cavendish, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon, or Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton.

message 45: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Michael Connelly writes the Harry Bosch mysteries.

message 46: by Melody (last edited Nov 23, 2015 04:11PM) (new)

Melody | 208 comments For this prompt I read Chicken with Plums by Marjane Satrapi, the amazing Iranian French graphic novelist. Chicken with Plums is the story of her great uncle, an accomplished and renowned tar player in Iran. It's told in 8 days, each day containing a story and theme, leading up to her great uncle's death. I didn't think it was as brilliant as her autobiographical memoir, Persepolis, but still honest, interesting, and thought provoking. I was really excited to remember that one of my favorite authors shared my initials.

message 48: by Sadia (new)

Sadia Ahmed | 9 comments Any recommendations for an author with the initials SA?

message 49: by Melody (new)

message 50: by Sadia (new)

Sadia Ahmed | 9 comments Ooooh one of his books is on my to-read list. I just realised that hahaha. Thank you :D
