I believe it ended with A Merciful Promise, #6. But, doesn’t she have a habit of having her characters appear in other series?
I’m really enjoying this one, how the author takes her time developing the characters (Levi being the exception) and continuing story arcs without leaving major plot lines dangling. Also loving the audio narration.

I love the audio too.
I read the first book in her Bone Secrets series but stopped when I learned I should begin with her Callahan & McLane series. I liked it but got distracted and never went back.

I've read Elliot's Bone Secrets series. The first one was ok, but I thought the stories got stronger as the series went on. I've also read some of her novellas that are part of a series she writes with Melinda Leigh. Those are good, but a bit too short.
Jonetta, Callahan appeared in the Bone Secrets series. I thought the Callahan & McLane series spun off of it.

Who shot at Ben Cooley when he was investigating the fire? I remember MacDonald saying that Joshua Pence shot the two deputies. Then MacDonald had him killed because of what he did. Did they say who shot at Ben Cooley? Or why he was shot at?

Cooley showed up too quickly at the fire/murder site of Pense. I think the shots were to slow Cooley down while the murderers escaped.

It may have, Robin. I just remember it came up when I read the book.
