My name is Amanda, and I am working on a fantasy novel, as I mentioned. I haven't written anything as yet, but am hoping to start very soon! I am also writing and illustrating a children's story, and I wrote some retellings of Myths and Forklore in Goodreads creative writing 😉!

I have been working on my novel for over a year now and I still haven't written a single WORD of it. At worse, I sit down at my incurably messy desk and stare at a sheet of blank paper for hours, feeling stupid and annoyed. At best, I scribble down a few sentences excitedly, then cross it all out, feeling stupid and annoyed.
Hi everyone! My name is Samantha, and I love writing. My teachers have praised my writing style and I've been published about 3 times in a collection of short stories in a local competition.

Hello everyone, my names Estela and I love to write (and of course read.) I’m not very good at it, but it’s fun for me :)
Believe in yourself! If you love it you can learn to get better, even if you don't feel like you're very good now. :)

Here's my May Day story. Sorry if it's late, but it was fun to write and I hope it's ok.

Not really. I write short stories for competitions and when I have ideas, so I'll probably write one for the Love-a-Tree Day. I did start to write a sci-fi novel but I'm not sure if it's still a good idea. I find it really hard to write books, just finding the right structure.

Hello, Tessa, it's lovely to meet you ❤️! Best of luck with your stories!

So far I have written one Fantasy novel, one fantasy/science fiction novel, one romance and one crime/suspense one. Viper is more historical/adventure YA. I have a short story for Tree day that is quite recent.

Welcome, Monique ❤️!
It's lovely to meet you, and I hope you'll enjoy your time in our group!! =D

I dont have any writing triggers so I write when I feel like it hence, I haven't really made notable progress. And I would really appreciate any kind of feedback when I share little snippets of what I'm working on

Welcome Sirija!
Welcome Sirija!

I don't really write , but when I was younger I just really enjoyed making up my own stories...still do I guess 😄 I hope to start writing some short stories soon (writing is more of a hobby for me)
is this group for hardcore writers?

I hope I get to learn lots from this group. I feel like I can express myself and thoughts in a book or a sheet ..."
Hi Lili,
sometimes words can be a hindrance in themselves. Writer's block is a rather strange concept. I have been writing for quite some years now, and do not think I ever encounterd it. I have experienced times, when I lacked inspiration, and did exactly what you said, stopped and did something else (sometimes even started a new and different story) to come back and write more with renewed vigour.
My latest book: Foreign Influence was a first idea about ten years ago, but I discarded most of what I had in 2015 and took the rest to start a serial story on an online fiction site. That gave me a new wind, just until I became disappointed with the website and went back to completing the novel. Between the start and publication of "Foreign Influnence" I wrote four novels and some 20 short stories.
For the other recent publication "The Princess of Lights" I spent three NaNoWriMos 2017, 2018 and 2019 writing and a good four months editing and formatting, finally another month and a brainstorming session on Discord to develop the final title and image.
Fighting the Homm on the other hand and Viper I wrote in about three weeks each.
I hope you see, that what you do isn't really "Writer's Block", but an integral part of writing. If you find that you want to write, but cannot get anything written for more then a couple of years, then I would accept it to be called Writer's block.
I think patience with oneself in writing is an author's greatest asset. I hope this helps.
Monique xx

Hi Michael! The stories sound very cool, and over a wide range of topics too, which is amazing. I'd love to read some sometime! :) :)
