Happy New Year!!

Can you believe we are now in another year? It's very scary how quickly time seems to fly these days.

Here are the challenges for the month of January:

1. New Year’s Day is the most celebrated day around the world. Read a book that revolves around a celebration or a new beginning,
2. January 3, 1924 - British Egyptologist Howard Carter found the sarcophagus of Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor after several years of searching. Read a book where the main character makes a great discovery.
3. January 7, 1714 - A patent was issued for the first typewriter designed by British inventor Henry Mill "for the impressing or transcribing of letters singly or progressively one after another, as in writing.” Read a book where the main character is an inventor or a writer of some description.
4. January 14th - American film pioneer Hal Roach (1892-1992) was born in Elmira, New York. His output included nearly 1,000 movies of all lengths, including the classic Laurel and Hardy comedies. Read a book that is classified as humour
5. Read a book with either the word ‘First’ or ‘One’ in the title or where the main character experiences something for the first time.

Each criteria is worth 5 points each.

Happy Reading!
