Just saying, as people who study leadership for their whole lives, not one of them other than Darrow has been taught/ figured out yet, that being nice to folk and giving them a role they are proud of means they are more likely to stay loyal to you, and do what you would like them to do for you, than if you treat them like slaves, and then expect them to fall over themselves to save you?

Big theme here, that I saw recently in the #TomeTime read of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ A Princess of Mars. Be kind.
