A Song of Ice and Fire - Book 1 A Game of Thrones

Yay!

its just 300 bucks on amazon.;) or you can also try tuebl for ebooks.:P

Naaaa... no ebooks for something as good as this! :D :D

Additionally, I have also met George Martin and discussed his life, my life, his characters' life, his characters' death, his death etc :P

I have a feeling that I am going to LOVE this series.:)
Plz tell us about your meeting with Martin. :D

In fact, I insist that you join these discussions and don't use memory as an excuse not to! :P :P

@Ishi - read it after the exams. Am sure we will still be getting people who will start reading later this year (ahem.. most probably me, just don't tell my buddy:P) so don't worry! :)

It was a couple of years back and it was sadly very brief (a couple of minutes, I think). I was too excited to ask him anything specific so I just spoke to him about general stuff. Surprisingly he wanted to know more about me and how I discovered this series, which was cool. But there was a highlight; I somehow found the guts to ask him something that bugs me(and each and every fan of this series, I sure):
Me: Why do you kill everyone?!?
GM: Valar Morghulis
Me: Valar Dohaeris
GM: That answers your question!
Ok, you won’t understand the above exchange until you are halfway past A Storm of Swords; but once you find what that means you’ll realise that his reply was awesome!

You're a one lucky guy Gordon.:)

Yay!"
A Storm of Swords is my favourite too! *high five*

I saw that.;)

Btw we can mention the English translations of those I guess, they won't give away any plot details.. Choice is urs :P"
It was during a promotional event for Season 2 of Game of Thrones.
And yes we could tell them the english translation which does not spoil anything but lets just let the 1st time readers discover everything by themselves; that's where the fun lies :P

Oh! that was in Santa Fe, his hometown. Literally had to ditch my parents for a day (was on holiday with them). :P

Yes Sri, planning to do that only..hope people will still be "starting" it in Feb/March :P

I'll believe when you actually do :P

LolxD
I will read it if I manage to get a physical copy :D :P

Has anyone else apart from Manju started reading yet?

Who is going to ask money from a guy who owns a vicious direwolf? :D
who is your favourite character?

She's annoying. Things happen to her because she is too lost in her own dream world.
I love many characters in this book. Tyrion, Ned, Arya, Jon

Some are born with courage, some have to strive and be courageous. I have a nagging doubt that I may have more of Sansa in me than of Arya and the rest of the stalwarts. Hence I sympathise with her. :P

Well I just finished Tyrion's part in Lannistor and Starks battle.

I don't like Sansa. She is so stupid, always dreaming.

I too can understand her. She believed in fairy tales. She believed that she is to marry Joff and her world start revolving around it.
Martin has written her character that way but still I have noo sympathy for her.
