I'll start it tomorrow. I'm looking forward to discover what will happen after the sample I already read in january :)

The 1st half is easy to read and the story is interesting. There are some twists with the characters and I enjoy them a lot (I just finished a gorgeous chapter).
So far, I laughed few times but I didn't expect to laugh as much as in the sample.
Michelle, I can recommend you to read the ebook sample and if you like it, you can buy the full book :)
I'll probably finish this tomorrow or monday, so I'll leave a review soon about the full story.

I bought the book on sale too :) At $0.99, it was a no brainer after reading the sample.
Finished! I gave it 4 stars because I really need a sequel to answer all my questions and for the moment, it's not scheduled!
Tell me how you find the book :)
My review:
Entertaining and page turner book.
I enjoyed a lot the writing and the really likable characters. Irene is a nice hero and a strong enough woman, with humour, something appreciated and not really common in fantasy. The other protagonists have compelling personalities and backgrounds, but there are too many things unsolved about them.
The story was pretty interesting, following a book search in a steampunk alternate London with some surnaturel creatures. We saw them a few time as all is focused on Irene and her team. There was a lot of action, fine talks, some twists and a bit of mystery. I was a little disappointed by the fact all happened in only one world (after the introduction), because I expected travels between universes.
With all the unanswered questions, the book calls for a sequel, so I hope we'll see one.

Great review by the way. Plan on starting this tomorrow or Friday. It will also be my first steampunk, I have been a bit reluctant to try the genre although I love fantasy so looking forward to this for several reasons
The steampunk part didn't seem too heavy for me as the story focuses on the characters. You just have to imagine an old London (maybe like the Sherlock Holmes one) but with some technological things in the background (cars, robots, electricity, etc). I like old and new stuff in the same world :)
And we have a title for the 2nd book: "The Masked City". It's in editing and she started writing the 3rd one :)
Summary:
So, this is not a comedy book, it's a fantasy one. But it seems the author has the same crappy humor than me, so I laughed 5 times reading the 24p of the preview. I don't know if I'll laugh during the rest of the story, but I'm sure I already laughed more than all the other books I can read (I don't laugh with Pratchett, I only smile, so good luck to find something better :p).
Example from the book, if you find it funny, you can go read the sample:
