Stephen King 2025 read-along discussion

Hello Constant Readers, I am flabbergasted that it is already June. I mean I know that as you age the months fly by, but come on. I feel like we didn't get anything done this year and it's already half way over. This is my final week of distance teaching my 3rd graders and I am relieved and sad. I will miss them, but I'm exhausted. I also miss reading and can't wait to get back into it again.

This month's pick is Black House which is the sequel to last month's pick Talisman. I read Black House back in college. At the time I didn't know it was a sequel. I found it awesome and loved the world building.

According to Den of Geek https://www.denofgeek.com/culture/the... The Talisman has been set to become a movie and I wonder if Black House will soon follow. The director has been chosen for this new project and it will be the same director as the Handmaid's Tale, Mike Barker. Hopefully it is still in the works. I know I would totally watch it. Well that's a biased statement. I would watch any adaptation of King's books.

Still hoping to get to The Talisman this month and then hopefully dive right into Black House after. I'm trying to mood read to avoid a book slump, because not much has been holding my attention. So if I find something to hold my attention for even a little bit I stick with it. Excited for both of them though!

YES! I'm trying to read, but the media is keeping me down. I got rid of cable so I wouldn't watch the news years ago because everything was so depressing. Now I can't even enjoy instagram or facebook. Everything is depressing and a lot of it is wrong and out there for clickbait...sigh. I hope you ladies are doing okay.

I agree with the whole news thing. People think I’m irresponsible for not keeping up with the world but every time I watched tv I cried .. so my dad will call me to let me know if the area I live in has bad weather coming lol.

Totally agree. I wasn't on FB or Instagram for a few days because my mental health was taking a real dive.

It’s the worse feeling . Now everything is opening up and now more cases. Researchers will find something soon I’m sure to help .

I'm halfway through The Talisman and it is DRAGGING. Has anyone started it yet?

I'm def finishing this one but skipping Black House. I'll read it in the future for sure, just not now.

I still haven't picked up the Talisman. Like I said above I picked it up a few years ago and only got like 250 pages in before I put it down. Black House I read back in college. I still need to reread it however because I'm sure I forgot a lot of it.
