I have to say that I really enjoyed this movie. there was a moment in the movie that I actually jumped and screamed, I don't do that lol and this movie got me doing it for the first time. Would love to hear what you guys thought.

message 2: by Monica (new)

Monica Go | 258 comments I watched it a few days ago and really enjoyed it too! At times was scary, but mostly I found it intense. Sometimes I wanted to kill the kid though :P.

message 3: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelrachelrachelrachel) How are you guys watching it? Netflix? Amazon Prime? Or rental?

KC, the movie of the month is BABADOOK

message 8: by Aileen, #1 Scaredy Cat (new)

Aileen (agm009) | 921 comments Mod
I suppose The Babadook can be classified as a haunted-house movie, but it’s more than that. It will rattle you and also give you something to think about as it moves toward its provocative and psychologically intelligent conclusion.

If you haven't seen the movie, please do so before reading anymore in this dicussion. With that said, what did you guys think about the ending?

message 9: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda Stefani (rhonda72) | 41 comments Guess I missed this post about a group movie lol! Is it on Netflix by chance? I don't have cable so any on-demand type of thing is out for me. Thanks guys!

Aileen (agm009) | 921 comments Mod
Yes, Netflix does have the movie. :)

Awesome! Thanks Aileen, just made my day! Also, being cable-less it's great to have something to watch today lol! :)

message 12: by Laura (new)

Laura Iverson (zenbreeze) I looked at netflix & didn't see it on streaming. I'll check again.

message 13: by Aileen, #1 Scaredy Cat (new)

Aileen (agm009) | 921 comments Mod
Laura, maybe it's not on streaming but DVD.

message 14: by Monica (new)

Monica Go | 258 comments Do you think haunted house? I don't know how to classify it. I didn't expect that ending at all. It surprised me. I mean she 'tamed' the thing?! I really liked the concept of the book for kids and the rhyme thing.

message 15: by Monica (new)

Monica Go | 258 comments Nobody whatched it? :(

message 16: by Laura (new)

Laura Iverson (zenbreeze) It wasn't on ondemand on Dish or netflix streaming so I was out of luck :(.

I watched a Hindi horror movie called Raaz 3 (should have probably watched 1 & 2 first, which I found on youtube).

message 17: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (littlemissred3) | 804 comments It's on Amazon and Itunes

message 18: by Tina (new)

Tina | 3 comments I watched it a little while ago, but while it was definitely scary and one of the better horror movies that have come out recently, I found it a little predictable myself. About halfway in, I was pretty sure what the ending would be, and it turned out I was right. Then again, maybe I've just watched far too many horror movies and read too many novels. It's pretty difficult to rattle and/or surprise me these days.

message 19: by Monica (new)

Monica Go | 258 comments It happens to me all the time with movies, but this time I was surprised instead :)

message 20: by Tina (new)

Tina | 3 comments That's great for you, I love when that happens :)

message 21: by Monica (new)

Monica Go | 258 comments I watched again The Babadook a few days ago and enjoyed it even more

Any suggestions for Feb. Movie?

message 23: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 40 comments I just watched the trailer for the film. It looks really well done. I am not sure if I will be able to watch it. I can read scary...but watching is something different. :) I might have to work on some nerve for this one.

message 24: by Monica (new)

Monica Go | 258 comments Meybe we can think about something for March, I wasn't around this month. I'll think about it

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I can't wait to watch that movie. I've heard so many good things about it. Just waiting for it to be on Netflix.

message 26: by Laura (new)

Laura Iverson (zenbreeze) I just recorded Child's Play. I've never seen it but, from the reviews, I gather the first one in the Chucky series is worth seeing. I bet everyone else has already seen it but I thought I'd throw it out there as a suggestion.

Or a foreign one. I've enjoyed the Bollywood horror movies I've seen and quite a few are available on youtube.

I really liked Child's Play. It was an original story, a bad guy's spirit goes into a doll....priceless.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I really liked it, also, as well as the whole franchise, except for Seed of Chucky. That was just terrible. Has anybody watched Curse of Chucky? I went into that thinking it was going to be stupid and I thought it was pretty good.

It sounds familiar. I believe I have seen it.

I purchased the Babadook book that the movie creators were making. I'll take a pic of it when I get it, it's suppose to arrive sometime around April

message 33: by Monica (new)

Monica Go | 258 comments Cool!

message 34: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1 comments There is a movie called Puppetmaster that gave me serious nightmares. I find dolls and puppets to be particularly scary for some reason. Maybe because they are human like inanimate objects. I would sooner take on an army of zombies. I am looking forward to seeing Babadook.

message 35: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelrachelrachelrachel) Annabelle was awesome!!

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked Mama. I think I gave it 4 stars, been awhile.

message 37: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelrachelrachelrachel) I liked Mama. It wasn't one of my favorites that I watch over and over but it was definitely worth watching!

Liked Mama a lot, the little girl was very creepy

The movie The Changeling with George C. Scott, I loved it.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

It's funny but sometimes I will watch a horror movie and think it's just okay, but then I end up watching it every time it's on tv.

You know what movie I really liked too, Gothika

Yes, that's probably my favorite Halle Berry movie. I was hooked!

message 43: by Tara (new)

Tara Kable | 6 comments Hey guys! So just trying to catch up here...Is this a feed for the movie of the month? And the name of that movie is Babadook?? Or is that code for something? LOL! Thanks!

I've been checking upcoming movies to rent and there aren't any horror movies as of yet. I'm waiting for some to be available.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

That would be fun.
