So before diving into my thoughts on “Blink” I took a quick look at some of the reviews others had given on Goodreads of it. And I found one to be absolutely hilarious:

“Blink” takes a look at how the mechanisms in which we make decisions; when it’s good to make split, unconscious decisions and when it’s best to think through a decision before making it. I was excited to start reading this one, but it quickly turned repetitive and dry in my opinion. Gladwell does a great job of making a point and the immediately following those points up with real-life examples for reference. I can say for sure that I learned a lot about how the adaptive unconscious can influence not only our decision-making, but also our prejudices. All in all, I wouldn’t necessarily suggest anyone to pick this book up, but if they did they’d gain some valuable insight into when and how to utilize those flash decisions our brains make outside of our control.
Now how does any of this relate to having a Mamba Mentality? To be brief, studying “Blink” can help unlock a different level to Mamba Mentality. Honing the decision-making process and learning to control “this magic and mysterious thing called judgement” (p. 444). When it boils down to it, having the freedom and knowledge of when leaning on the power of the unconscious mind versus when to mull over a choice is a skill that could help one be the best version of themselves possible. Although training this decision making tool is necessary for it to be effective, as discussed in the book, it’s still something to consider if you’d ever want to go FULL MAMBA.

Basically: Not the best title in our series, but still some good info.
