Preston | 20148 comments In this game, you will have to provide three statements about yourself. Two of them must be true and another one a lie. The next person will have to guess which is the lie. The first person to guess correctly gets to give his/her three statements.

With this game, if you post two truths and a lie, it is important to check back often so you can tell us whether a response from players is correct or not.

example:

1. I live in a pink house.
2. I set out the trash on thursdays.
3. I went to high school in Hawaii.

first guess: #3
I reply: no
second guess: 1
I reply: yes

The one who guessed #1 was the lie is the next person to list two truths and a lie about themselves.

message 2: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Okay, I'll go first:

1. I live in a pink house.
2. I set out the trash on thursdays.
3. I went to high school in Hawaii.

message 3: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I don't believe Preston lives in a pink house. My erstwhile Californian boss Ben Dominitz lived in a pink house, which is why to his staff he was secretly known as Mr. Pink House.

message 4: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Roger is correct. My house is white with black shutters just like Roger has seen in photos I've sent him. Roger and Oli don't live in a pink house either. I'm pretty certain pink houses are against the law in their little medieval hamlet.

Roger it's your turn since you "guessed" the lie.

message 5: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments 1. I live in a "New Town"
2. I set out the trash on Tuesdays
3. I live next to a river

message 6: by Averin (new)

Averin | 1962 comments I guess #1 because Roger and Oliver live in Ludlow and it is not on the list of the New Town Act of 1946, being an ancient market town.

message 7: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Sorry Averin (trick question perhaps) but Ludlow was built from scratch by the Normans when they came a-conquering, so it's known as the Norman New Town.

3. is the lie. I did once live right over the River Teme, but not for 19 years now.

What happens next???? :-))

message 8: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments You go again until you're caught in a lie.

message 9: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Oh… right… er…

1. I write books
2. I spell everything correctly
3. My eyes are hazel brown

message 10: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Is it number 1?

message 11: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments NO! ;)

message 12: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Is it number 3?

message 13: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments NO!! Go on, guess…

message 14: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments I give up. Every time I guess you say "no" :-(

message 15: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments By a process of complex deduction, if number 1 and number 3 are not lies, then number… oh damn. Now I've got myself in a muddle…

message 16: by Lori S. (new)

Lori S. (fuzzipueo) | 2809 comments LOL

message 17: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Lori is laughing at us! I am so embarrassed now.
I give up.
Maybe adding this game was a mistake.

message 18: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe but but but *pouty face* I wanted to plaaaaay

message 19: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments No problem. There are three choices above in Message 17. Two of the sentences are the truth. One is a lie. Can you figure out the lie? If you can you get two write the next two truths and a lie. This should be easy Kit so put away the pouty face and give us a smile :-)

message 20: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Remember, Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder…

message 21: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe d'aww Roger, you're going to make me blush

is the lie maybe adding this game was a mistake ?

message 22: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments hi, y'all! i'm just noticing this...i wanna play!

i say #1. lori is laughing, but pres is (definitely) not embarassed.

message 23: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments The two guesses were wrong.

Lori's message16 is LOL and I was embarrassed at the time.
Adding this game is not a mistake,
The lie was "I give up." as you can see I didn't give up since I'm playing.

Nobody guessed correctly so I go again.

1. I have three Apple Macbook laptops.
2. Roger signed my copy of The Complete Chronicle Of The Emperors Of Rome
3. I ate fruit right from trees in a rainforest

message 24: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe I say one is a lie

message 25: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments i wanna say 3. but since you've been to hawaii you've probaly been other places. so i'll go with- actually, i'll stick with #3.

message 26: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Roger signed my copy of his book The Complete Chronicle Of The Emperors Of Rome was the lie. It's a great book though.

Sorry Absinthe, I do have three Macbooks. One is just an 11" Macbook Air but the others are 17".

Marcie, Marcie, Marcie! If only you had Googled Hawaiian Rain Forests you would have found out it was possible, even likely I had a tropical paradise time in an Hawaiian rain forest where guavas and strawberry guavas could be picked from trees growing in the wild. Guavas are a products of Mexico too and Hawaii and Mexico are at the same latitude just 2,000 miles away from each other so they may grow the same fruit and they do with the guava. And I thought you knew Mexico so well :-)

message 27: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe am I allowed to be jealous of your prodigious computer ownership?

message 28: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe i think its that you got a kitten yesterday

message 29: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe I claim two for Roger!

message 30: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments

1. I have a 19th Century clock that tells the time, month, day of the week and date.

2. I was a DJ on a Radio station.

3. The Dean of the Art School cut off the tie I was wearing.

message 31: by Averin (new)

Averin | 1962 comments {is it me, or is this game getting weird?}

No 2.

message 32: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments pres, since you already mentioned hawaii i didn't think it would come in play again (i guess that's what i get for assuming ;-) ). besides when i think hawaii i don'think tropical. i think scary valconoes! btw, believe it or not my mom got a guayaba tree to grow here. but guayaba and papaya are my least favorite fruit. so it's not that great of news. guayaba candy tho? hook it up!

as for your next question: #1

message 33: by Lori S. (new)

Lori S. (fuzzipueo) | 2809 comments Averin wrote: "{is it me, or is this game getting weird?}

No 2."

This game is weird (in a good way).

message 34: by Lori S. (new)

Lori S. (fuzzipueo) | 2809 comments Marcie wrote: "pres, since you already mentioned hawaii i didn't think it would come in play again (i guess that's what i get for assuming ;-) ). besides when i think hawaii i don'think tropical. i think scary va..."

Also available in Hawaii: mangoes, passion fruit, bananas, papaya, pineapple ... Dole used to have a pineapple factory on Oahu (cool place to visit). The only island with active volcanos is Hawaii and one of those is still under the ocean.

message 35: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments 1. I do have a 19th C. Calendar Clock.

2. I was DJ on a National Public Radio station and was also the program manager deciding what programs to air. It was fun.

3. The Dean of the Art School did not cut off my tie. #3 is the Lie.

After 3 victories I am retiring for the moment.

To choose who goes next I'm going to flip a coin. Heads is Averin and Tails is Marcie. <-drum roll-> It came up Tails.

Marcie will be next to write two truths and a lie.

message 36: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Marcie is a bare-faced liar… go for it :-))

message 37: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments Lol Why thank ya, Roger :-D
Ok. So here's my 3:

1-My grandfather had blue eyes?

2-In the last couple of months most of my weekends have been spent hanging out with a Major League Pitcher.

3-My kids have my black hair and brown eyes.

message 38: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments If you have been hanging out with a Major League pitcher and you didn't tell me then you are no longer my sister. I think the lie is number 3.

message 39: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Hmmmmmmm… I'm thinking: granddad has blue eyes, Marcie has brown eyes… hmmmmmm…

message 40: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe granddad has blue eyes

and Roger...blue eyes are a recessive gene, so brown eyes, unless both of marcie's parents had a gene for recessive blue, its entirely possible.

message 41: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments 1- my granddad did have blue eyes. actually, several of my relatives on my mom side have the whole light color hair & eyes. i'm the black sheep of the family :)

2- the milwaukee brewers didn't make it far this season. so matt garza has been back in town and our sons play on the same baseball travel team. [i'll put his image behind spoilers so it doesn't take up space]
(view spoiler)

3- my son & i are the only ones w/the dark hair & brown eyes. my daughter has very light brown hair and her eyes? beats me :) they're kind of brown, but not really. they change depending on light/clothes.

so, preston is right. 3 is a lie.

message 42: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Thanks for giving me an easy one Sis. :-)

1. I have a transgendered friend who is a performer.
2. My dog and I don't like grated parmesan cheese on our pizza.
3. I have a friend who was under FBI protection.

message 43: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments i just can't lie as good as you, bro :-)

i say 2, just cus i don't like parmesan either.

message 44: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments You are correct. I don't like parmesan but my dog does so that was the lie.

Comgradulatums!

message 45: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments oH SNAP! for reals?! ok. here goes.

1- have been playing softball since high school and currently still playing.

2- i eat my tamales american style :) [with ketchup]

3- i put pop rocks (candy) in my dogs mouth.

message 46: by Preston, Moderator (last edited Jan 15, 2015 08:56PM) (new)

Preston | 20148 comments 3 is true only if you were three years old at the time.
2. Good grief your grandmother would beat you with a stick
1. You are very athletic. Stay away from performance enhancing guys!

I truly hope for your sake and for the pride of Mexico 2 is a lie

message 47: by Averin (new)

Averin | 1962 comments I don't know any guettos who put catsup on tamales.

message 48: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments See Averin and I agree with your grandmother who would beat you with a stick if she saw catsup on your tamale.

message 49: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments So what are we saying here? That Marcie's Number 2 is an outrageous lie, or merely a sad case of terrible taste?

message 50: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe I also say that Marcie's number two is a lie
