What happend to the ring!?

Okay, I am a little confused.....
So Aaron proposed to Ella! Without a ring, while Kenji told him to do this. But why didn't Aaron give his mother his ring to Ella? That would have been perfect! I was also wondering what happened to the ring and Ella's diary. There are fragments of her diary in the book, but more is discussed about what exactly happened to the diary or who has it or where it is.
AND…..
Shouldn't Aaron have felt regret or such an emotion the moment Delalieu met Juliette? Since this book indicates that he regrets what happened to Ella? And shouldn't Aaron have realized that Delalieu knew Juliette before they met for the "first time"?
