I ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting on Saturday. Check out my review for my journey with Gatsby from High School until today:

Awesome! I hope you enjoy!

I have so far only read the first two (of nine) chapters. Given how short the book is I am really surprised how slowly the build-up moves. I really like the narrator's voice but I am slightly baffled by the pace of it.

I didn't in high school, but I enjoyed it during my reread this year. Maybe that is because I listened to it in double-time? Brought the pace up a lot! :)

I had read that in your review..I was just curious to know what you found interesting in your second reading or, I mean what caught your attention in second reading which you didn't find in your first reading?or is it just that the understanding gets better with time?:):)

I think it is the understanding of the story and having seen the movie. Also, I ended up reading a lot of Hemingway and about Hemingway and his relationship with the Fitzgeralds. So, since the first time, I have a lot more points of reference. I can definitely understand you struggling, though - I was there once! :)
