There is no need for special rules about transphobia which I will of course deal with it in the same way I would deal with antisemitism or any other form of bigotry.
There is evidently a need to state what should be obvious however, which is what transphobia is and isn't...
Discussing the differences between gender and sex, gender expression and identity and so forth is of course not transphobia. Concerns about the consequences of the prevailing confusion regarding such matters are legitimate feminist issues. Opposing a piece of legislation which happens to support the exclusion of transwomen from women's spaces is obviously not transphobia either. Finally, proclaiming that chromosomes have an unspecified "definitive role" is not transphobia, no matter how strong our suspicion might be that such a statement is calculated to provoke offense and discord. Being a TERF does likewise not make one a transphobe as such, regardless of how hypocritical and obnoxious the loudest TERF voices might be.
Transphobia in the context of a forum includes and is not limited to: callous disregard for suffering, spreading basless fears, calls for gratuitous discrimination, promotion of transphobic publications, hateful rhetoric, pruposeful misgendering and slurs. Please be warned: paying lip service to traditional feminist ideas will not protect you from the consequences of engaging in hate speech.
So one might naturally form a strong suspicion that a book like Gender Fraud contains transphobia. But fiction has always contained various forms of hate speech and that is not objectionable as such. And I have so far received no evidence that Gender Fraud is a transphobic book.
But even if the book isn't transphobic, the way it is being promoted is inflammatory. That might be a good way to attract attention but groups such as this one are certainly not compelled to countenance such tactics!
And when other group members who wished to promote utterly unobjectionable books asked me for permission before spamming the group, I asked them not to behave like Peg even though it wouldn't have riled anybody up.
The only thing which kept me from deleting Peg's post is the absurd partisanship presently afflicting online discussions trans and non-binary issues. I have deleted a transphobic post before and would gladly do so again but I will not have it said that TERF opinions are censored here. This thread is therefore dedicated to self-promotion of TERF material and I ask Peg and like-minded group members to message me before creating any other threads or posting inflammatory material on the pain of summary deletion. This group is basically dead and my patience for spamming or bad faith will be limited accordingly.

I'm sure you understand that we can't have every author (or affinity group) post their own thread. You didn't even bother to start the thread's title with R4R. If others did the same, a visitor looking for the opinions and advice of fellow readers would after clicking on a few threads with intriguing titles only find self-promotion.
(direct answers to a deleted post edited away)

The post above will at least allow people to find her books by clicking on "Peg" (that post having been deleted as well, here is a link: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/6... ). But please do not argue back or otherwise update this thread unless you have something substantive to add that might actually be of interest to most group members.
People are welcome to post promote their TERF-leanign fiction here as long as they keep their posts free of inflammatory comments regarding non-fictional matters or otherwise distract from the literary or entertainment value of such works.
(Still hoping the mods will take action and clarify the rules of the group re: transphobia... any day now....)
