Sarah (calypte) | 84 comments Ah, okay. A few things start making more sense - but, bit bold to assume I'll be okay slogging through 2/3rd of the book with things that irritate me before getting a bit of a reason! Exposition, exposition, exposition, hahah.

Before that, almost liking the family now. Almost. Dad still seems like a duffer, happy little sister - well, doesn't excuse everything. I mean, she's still older than 'Fay-ruh' (fay-ray too obvious?). She can't really play the 'I am ickle and naive and tralala' over all the crud, ammiright? But oldest sis has a slight redeem, and I'll half-take it. Still, she was very 2D at the start if this was going on in the background and we need the 'tell don't show' aspect. Sigh.

I think Amarantha is just bored. She set out a game that lasted 50 years and didn’t get the result she wanted (Tamlin isn’t exactly fawning over her), and so she drags her game out by another three months. And she’s so afraid that her court won’t fear her into submission, that she strings up a dead human to the wall. If she was truly something to fear, I don’t think she would need to be so flamboyant. I wonder if Feyre has addressed the court rather than her, if she couldn’t have started a revolution in the throne room. Rather that than the ‘sure, I’ll wait three months and do your dishes to get what I came to collect today.
