What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this book between 2006-2008. The main characters were probably between the ages of 16-21. There were two girls in the same ballet class who were really good friends. One of them suddenly has terrible pain in her leg, and finds out that she has a brain tumor and/or brain cancer. The book goes through their friendship and how the girl with cancer has to watch from a wheelchair while her friend takes her roles and becomes successful while she fades away. I can't remember if she died in the end or not.

It cannot be Outside the Limelight (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...) since that was published in 2016 but it sounds similar.
