Somehow I didn't get the notification for this lol!

@Lemon Yeah I haven't started it yet either! I just have so many readathons and stuff! Hopefully soon!

@Kat Ooof I hate when books are coincidental, too lucky. The Miss Peregrine books are SO lucky it's crazy, and even the book I'm reading right now is in a sense, but normally I don't care that much. I just want, yeah, good writing! I mean, it's Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, expecting some big things!

@Kat Ooh yeah I so agree with that! They both have to be compatible, there shouldn't be a love triangle, they should both have inherent problems but the yearning to work through it... Oh wow that's interesting! I normally look first to the author's name when looking at a book (after the title). But yeah I guess every book is so different! Like, Turtles all the way down is so different from the fault in our stars, and you might look one of the author's books but not like the other!

Oooh halfway through! Yay so happy you're enjoying it! Lol yeah hopefully there are no more coincidences, and that the ending's good! Yeah hopefully you can make it! (and if you do I promise I won't put your words on the screen lol)

@Kat Exactly! If it's not well-written (and 99% of the time it isn't), then I don't want it! Of course! I completely understand!

message 7: by Ana (new) - rated it 3 stars

Ana K P (indeliblefaith) | 57 comments Haven't started it yet! Probably won't for a while, since I'm currently buddy reading a few books with an IRL friend. Which is great, coz buying fewer books but reading more coz you pool your resources togther xD

sukhroopreads (sukhroopandbooks) | 101 comments Mod
@Ana Oooh that's cool! Hopefully your buddy reading goes well! Yes that sounds like the ultimate win!

@Kat 3.5 isn't that bad of a rating lol! I have to say I'm going into this book a little more apprehensive than I did with SLAY, because it's a rom-com, and I'm not THAT interested in the plot. Ooof a controversial ending this is going to be fun! I already know it's going to be funny and smart and just amazing in that sense, I just am wondering if the plot is going to be gripping or the characters will be good. What did you think?

sukhroopreads (sukhroopandbooks) | 101 comments Mod
@Kat Yeah based on the synopsis it doesn't look like there's a lot of room to explore character, but I mean it is Becky Albertalli! But yeah there are always decent interpersonal relationships in YA now!!!

Yeah but I also want to feel romantic tension, but also see those characters outside of their romances! Lol it doesn't sound realistic yeah!

OMG there is going to be a sequel! It's going to be published in 2021! Oooh I think we're going to have a lot of things to talk about with the ending (what you said before about how it was a bit confusing) and what the sequel might be about!

Noelle Rice | 6 comments I just finished reading it. I'm... underwhelmed to say the least.

sukhroopreads (sukhroopandbooks) | 101 comments Mod
@Noelle OOF. I don't even have the highest of expectations in the first place! Kat also didn't love it! Did you have high expectations... or did the book not satisfy those low expectations? And what so underwhelming about it?

Noelle Rice | 6 comments I had high expectations. I loved they both died at the end so I figured this would be just as good! I know I don't normally like romance but I still wanted to give it a shot. And it missed the bar. I gave it 3 stars. I..... don't know how I feel about this. Did I love it? Did I hate it? Was it an amazing love ballad? Was it a more than mediocre summer mess? I... don't know. This book seems depressingly average. There were great moments that left me grinning like the Cheshire cat. And there were moments I sat there expecting more. Some characters got increasingly annoying as the book went on, and many just mellowed out. I don't know what to take from this. The ending was very vague and I know for certain if I didn't go through a theater kid phase I would understand half the references Arthur made. So I'm left with an average rating for an average book. Good enough to finish, bit not good enough to pick up again.

Troy_Reads Noelle your review is so poetic I love it!!! I have yet to start What if It’s Us because I want to remember as much as I can for the liveshow.

@Noelle Kat was talking earlier about how if you like one book from an author, that's not a guarantee you'll like their authors, and it definitely is apparent with this book! Same since this book is primarily a romance I'm not super excited, and I also don't know if I want this to be my first Silvera book! Although I'm okay with the book being average lol. I think reading it will be an experience. Lol I could never be a theater kid! I literally cannot wait to talk about this book and I haven't even read it yet! It's going to be more interesting than the SLAY live show because with SLAY everyone liked it, with this one nobody has liked it that much yet!

@Troy I was thinking the same exact thing! Noelle, you're am amazing writer!

Noelle Rice | 6 comments Kat, I personally loved They Both Did At The End. It had an interesting plot other than just liking someone and the world slightly different from our own was much more interesting than boring postal offices and coffee shops. I find it FAR more interesting than What If Its Us

Ilsen | 8 comments They Both Die At The End will make you think about life at the end. It’s so good! Make sure to have tissues!

Noelle Rice | 6 comments Ilsen, yes have a whole box! I sobbed during They Both Die At The End so many times!

I never really understood how a book could be sad if I already knew the ending, which is why I'm also confused about A Girl Like That, because in both books we know the characters did at the end. But I could see how the entire thing would just be sad to see them trying to living a life in one day and saying their goodbyes. And yeah even if I don't like What if it's us I'm still going to be reading ALL of Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli's books!

@Kat I've only cried for one book, and you know what the book is!

sukhroopreads (sukhroopandbooks) | 101 comments Mod
Yay! OOH I have never cried of boredom that must be tough lol... I'm starting it on the 23rd, because I just won't have time for it until then. We're having our liveshow on the 30th!
