From the reviews I've read, it's not really YA--except for the characters' ages. I just ordered a copy today.

I'm actually starting this one this week for the Summerween readathon, so I'm excited to discuss it with everyone next month!

Before I realized this was the group read for September I wondered if it was Clown in a Cornfield related and it tis!

I started last night, only through the prologue and Quinn is at her first day of school but (prologue spoiler) (view spoiler)[ I knew this party was not going to end well! (hide spoiler)]

I'm at the 31% mark on my kindle and really enjoying it so far! I feel like Adam writes teens very well, which makes sense, since I believe he's also a high school teacher. But a lot of the jokes being made and turns of phrase are things I feel like I could easily see any teen I know saying in regular conversation.

Also, I love Quinn's dad! He's so clumsy and such a goof.

(view spoiler)[I'm really intrigued by how ominous the scene in the diner felt, and how hostile the adults seem towards the teens. On one hand, the teens aren't innocent, but on the other, it feels like there's a huge divide between the groups and I wonder if Quinn's dad is going to end up suffering at the hands of that, because I could easily see him being on the side of the teens and his daughter if push comes to shove. I agree, and I thought the same thing about the teens. They seem very believable. Didn't realize Adam was a high school teacher.

I agree with your spoiler, Destiny.

I feel like the author has created some serious tension and atmosphere and I always love that. Whenever these townsfolk get together, at least so far, it seems like a lit powder keg waiting to blow up.

um love this! late to this book/game but am in for clowns and corn fear; what could go wrong?!
