What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

1. It's about two teen boys from New York. I THINK one of them is named Theo, but I'm not sure. At first, all is fine and well. Then Theo moves to California for school, where he falls in love with some kid named Jackson. The narrator is heartbroken. One day while at the beach the narrator calls Theo(?). They had just gotten in a huge fight over their breakup. Distracted, Theo walks into the water to ~vibe out~ when he gets taken under by the riptide. Jackson tries to save him but was unsuccessful. Each of them blames the other for his death. Jackson and the narrator grow close after Jackson flies out to New York for Theo's funeral. They end up hooking up to remind each other of Theo but then they both regret it, I don't remember what happens after that.

2. I read this book less than a year ago. It's probably from the Young Adult LGBT section.
