A couple of things to keep in mind:
✸ Communication is key. Please make sure to check in regularly with your team.
✸ Let your team know if it looks like you won't get your review posted by Thursday, 11:59pm. You do have all of Friday to submit your review, but it can be intensely frustrating for your captain if they don't know when or if they can expect your review before the deadline.
✸ If you know beforehand that you won't be able to read and review a book during a certain week, you can request a pre-arranged absence from me, either by posting the request in the discussion thread or by sending me a pm. The request has to be submitted before the team rolls for the week in question, can only be approved by me as the mod in charge of running the game, and has to state a reason for the absence. (Reasons for pre-arranged absences can include e.g. going on vacation or work trips, planned hospital stays, exam period, etc.)
✸ If you do not have a pre-arranged absence and won't be able to finish your book in time for an unforeseen reason, please let your team know as soon as possible. If the team has earned the free pass, it can be used to cover the missing review. Without a free pass, the team has to sit out the next roll.
✸ We all know that real life gets in the way sometimes, be it through family emergencies, work emergencies, natural disasters, technical problems making it impossible to get online, or in other ways. That being said, please do keep in mind that this is a team challenge and your team relies on you to do your part unless an emergency occurs.
✸ If you find that the pressure of keeping up with the pace of the game gets too much for you or you wish to stop playing for any other reason, you can drop out of the challenge at any time. In that case, please let your team captain and/or me know that you wish to drop out rather than just disappearing without a word so your team won't be penalized when you fail to turn in your review. Thank you!
Captain's Handbook
✸ The team's captain is its chief organizer. This includes rolling the dice, posting the team's new spot to the team thread and the Post Your Spot thread, collecting links to team members' review posts in a single post to be linked in the Post Your Spot thread, doublechecking that books and review posts comply with requirements, reminding team members to post their reviews in time if necessary, etc.
✸ The captain may delegate some tasks, such as rolling and posting the new spot to the team thread, to another team member if they so choose. (Either a designated roller who fulfills this role every week, or whichever team member is online first once rolling is possible.) Collecting reviews into a single post and posting to the Post Your Spot thread should always be handled by the captain.
✸ Instead of having everything handled by a single team captain, teams can also choose two co-captains to handle the workload.
✸ Selection posts are not strictly required by the game's rules and I won't be checking for them. It's up to the team captain to decide whether they want them.
✸ If the team captain requests a pre-arranged absence, it's their responsibility to arrange for another team member to step in as temporary captain.
✸ The team captain is my primary point of contact for the team and should allow receiving private messages.

I'm getting back into the swing of challenges.
I haven't been reading nearly as much this year for some reason!

I'm so excited for this challenge! This is one of my favorite team challenges! :)
A little about me, I'm 38. I'm from Illinois, about 2-3 hours south of Chicago. I have three boys, ages 6, 4 1/2 and 3 1/2, who keep life loud and interesting, lol. I work from home as a transcriptionist, which has been a big blessing this year, especially. In my free time, you'll either find me with a book in my hand, at my computer playing a game, or binge watching Supernatural on Netflix in prep for the last episodes of the show.
I would prefer not to be captain, but if no one else wants to do it, I could probably figure it out! Can't wait to get started! :)

🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Read so many series so this is always a fun one for me.
Already busy with a bunch of other challenges so hopefully this will work well and just be complimentary to them.

I have 5 children, 21 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. I’m a retired high school teacher of 25 years. I taught English and yearbook. Since I retired in May 2017 I’ve travelled all over until the pandemic but I plan to make up for lost time. 😂
Favorite genres: mystery/thriller/psychological thriller; historical fiction; fantasy; romance and some YA.
Favorite authors: Brittainy C. Cherry; Colleen Hoover; J.A. Redmerski; Rebecca Donovan; Karin Slaughter; Jennifer Armentrout; Amy Harmon; Kim Holden.
Hopefully we will have some good chats!

I haven't done this one in a while, but I have a ton of challenges going at the moment, but I think this one will fit right in with the rest. It seems as if I'm always reading series books anyway.
I am married (19 years) with 4 kids: 25, 20, 18, 14 (will be 15 in a few weeks), so only one left at home with my husband and I.
I work full time in Human Resources for a locally owned company. When I am commuting to and from work or at my desk I am usually listening to an audio book.
All I do is read, read, read. Although I have recently started making time to watch movies or binge shows. I recently just (as in last night) started watching True Blood on the HBO app. I watched it when it was actually current (which is how I found the Sookie Stackhouse books), but stopped after season 3, so I'm starting from the beginning. And this weekend after my daughter & I got back to the house I actually watched a couple of movies. That's a lot for me.
Usually my tv is on Golden Girls in the background while I read or listen to a book.
My favorite genre is Romance (just about any sub-genre), but I also like a good Mystery/Thriller, Biography, Women's Fiction, and Urban Fantasy every once in a while.
Anyway, my rambling is over.

Does anyone have team names in mind that we could vote on?

I know I have seen a few of you around, but the only one I know I am on teams with currently and in the past is Shan ~A~. *waves*
This should be fun. 😁

Quick note before i turn in for bed.
Know a few of you from past team challenges.
Love reading and series.
Will update fave authors and genres later

I definitely do not. I appreciate your sacrifice ;)

Lucky Charms
Frosted Flakes
Honey Bunches of Oats
Froot Loops
This may have been done before though

If not, I don't mind doing it. This is an easy one!"
I could, but have a bunch of big challenges I am already juggling and another that starts in a few days in addition to this one, also....
So long story short, if you do not mind being Captain, that would be stupendous. Thanks Sandy

Fun name ideas.
I often try and take the peoples names and come up with something
SRVASS-LCCAA, hum....(view spoiler)

Also the cereal names are clever.
My only idea at this point is Series Seekers.

If not, I don't mind doing it. This is an easy one!"
You've got my vote as captain, Sandy! :)

Series Seekers
Rascals
Lucky Charms
Thanks, Sandy, for offering to be our captain. I doubt anyone is begging for it so thanks! :)

I just discovered Brittainy Cherry & Colleen Hoover this year love their writing...I have their latest ones on my TBR...oh heck and with Hoover I think I have 80% of hers in paperback...
I read a variety of authors and genres...
Looking forward to reviews and discussions.

Looks like top choices so far:
Rascals
Lucky Charms
Series Seekers"
I'm happy with any of those! My favorite is probably Series Seekers.

Author: Isabel Cooper
Finished: 09/18
How it fits: 1st in Highland Dragon series
Rating: 3 stars
Review: I'm glad I didn't completely judge this book by it's cover or else I would have been sorely disappointed. The cover (and the title) gives the impression that this is going to be about a kilt wearing highlander. It's not.
The book takes place in Victorian England. Yes, our hero is a dragon shifter, and yes he is a highlander, but we do not travel to the wilds of Scotland in this story.
What lies between the covers was actually pretty good. I love my heroines smart and strong minded, and that is exactly what we got here. She was inquisitive, which is how she found herself mixed up in this mess, but I think that also made her more open-minded than anyone else would have been.
Mina challenged Stephen in all ways, and that is exactly the type of woman he needed.
