Hi everyone ! I'm Raechel and I live in Maine. I've been getting into the Ravenloft books as well as 80s/90s fantasy and horror lately, so this should be fun!

Kim Lockhart (kimlockhart) Hey everyone! My name is Kim and I am honored to have been invited to this group, but this series turns out not to be my thing, so think I will respectfully duck out. I am very glad to be introduced to new things, and I appreciate the opportunity.

Happy reading and hope that all of you stay well!

Hey, all.

Thanks for allowing me to semi-lurk in this group. I've been reading books set in the Forgotten Realms since the mid-90s. I started with Salvatore's Drizzt books, like many others. Over the years I've branched out to other Realms writers and series. Outside of early Drizzt novels another Relams favorite of mine is the Last Mythal series by Richard Beyers.

Fantasy is my favorite genre. I also read contemporary fiction, classic fiction, Star Wars, Harry Potter and I'll even mix in some Stephen King once in a while.

I'll follow along here and there if that is okay. Looking forward to reading a few new Realms books as you go along, and rereading a few favorites, too.

The parry is wrong. - Drizzt Do'Urden

Welcome! I read my first Drizzt book last month through this group. I've known about them for a while but I had assumed they weren't for me. However, I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading more in the series!

I've read a few of the Ravenloft books and I really liked them, but this has been my first delve into the Forgotten Realms. I recently played a Curse of Strahd campaign and really enjoyed the setting.

I think these early books have some issues, but I look forward to reading more and hearing what other people thought of them.

Thanks for the welcome, Raechel. I was pretty happy to find this little group.

I love the Ravenloft setting and had a blast running Curse of Strahd for my gaming group. When we finish our Forgotten Realms journey, perhaps we can revisit some Ravenloft novels. I, Strahd: The Memoirs of a Vampire is one of my favorite vampire books ever.

That would be great! I've read Vampire of the Mists and loved poor Jander. I plan to read Knight of the Black Rose, a friend has an extra copy they keep meaning to mail out to me. I have read a few of the Azalin books that take place in Darkon and thought they were interesting.

Liam (ranor) | 4 comments Howdy all, I’m Liam and I love reading fantasy. My first Realms novels were the Brimstone Angels series by Erin Evans that I read in 2017. March of last year I decided to challenge myself to read all of the Forgotten Realms novels and blog the experience; I’m currently 40+ books through so have a lot more to go.

I try not to be in too many series at once, I recently finished book 2 of the Cleric Quintet and will hopefully get to book 3 this month, and I might join in for Spellfire as I haven’t read it yet.

Great minds think alike apparently, I started this as a challenge I wanted to do for my booktube channel. I lost interest in making videos but enjoy blogging so I decided to restart it for my blog. I'll have to check out yours.

Are you doing your challenge in any particular order?

David (davidpc83) | 3 comments Hi all,
I just started reading The Forgotten Realms series this summer, by learning about the creator, Ed Greenwood! As a kid I played D&D with my older brother and his friends, and when I was little older I got into the Dragonlance novels. It's only now that I've decided to also go on a journey to read The Forgotten Realms series, well, the novels that interest me the most first, but I did start in publication order too! Anyway, I'm not sure how active this group is but I had to join it once I saw there were others still out there discovering these books long after many have been out of publication.
