LyraFirefly I did not ask for chapters on chapters of them doing the same thing over and over again.

😂lol

message 8: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly Honestly... not when you're reading it.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

hhahaahha I'm currently reading mockingjay, and I honestly don't think the ballad of songbirds and snakes'll be interesting so I won't read it.

message 10: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly Is from the president's pov

message 11: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly Hey guys! I'm kinda bored rn so if any of y'all want me to write a review/rant on a book you liked or hated that I also read, please let me know! :)

message 12: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly I thought I would like The School for Good and Evil, and honestly, I'm not really liking it so far, and I really don't get all the hype for it.

I AGREE. It's fun and all, but it's not GREAT, and I think it sends some pretty harmful messages

message 14: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly Yeah... especially when Agatha became "pretty" it kind of defeated the purpose of making her like that in the beginning. It doesn't match the character she had in the beginning at all. Not even a little bit. The same way that it's not funny. Not even a little bit.

Yeah. That was stupid. The whole message was "looks don't define you." But then BAM, she's pretty, hooray

message 16: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly IKR!!

message 17: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly I just finished The Outsiders and W O W. I don't even know what to say. I need to gather my thoughts and I'll post my review later.

Oof. I thought that book was super boring.

message 19: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly Eh, it depends on the person really.

LyraFirefly I'm currently reading The Storm Runner and Keeper of the Lost Cities, and I'm kinda mad because the characters I've met so far in The Storm Runner are basically Percy and Annabeth, just less smooth. I like their personalities, but I'm kinda upset that some people just don't try and make their characters just a bit different.

I knowwwww. Originality, please

message 22: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly Ok, so I've gotten a little bit farther, about 50%, and it's gotten a bit more interesting, and I no longer think Brooks is like Annabeth, but Zane has the same sassy Percy personality. Also, it says he has a bad leg, but in terms of actually walking and running, it's as if he doesn't have a problem at all, which annoys me a lot.

message 23: by Lilly S (new)

Lilly S I read that a couple of years ago. I was thinking about rereading it because I kind of want to see what happens in the third book that just came out. Yeah I'm not surprised that the characters are a lot like the ones from Percy Jackson though

message 24: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly Yeah.

That's annoying. It was the same with Kaz Brekker, who is supposed to have a leg problem but conveniently never does during the heist

LyraFirefly I've been in a reading slump and I don't really know what to do, and I just can't seem to enjoy the books I'm reading. I'm super bored and I don't know what to do...

message 45: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments You could re-read a favorite, read graphic novels (easier and faster reads), read in verse, read shorter books, and faster-pased books! I hate reading slumps and these are my go-to solutions.

message 46: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly Ok! Thank god I actually have physical copies of a few favorites.

LyraFirefly You guys were talking about Frozen in Nikki's Nook and I didn't want to spam, so I'm gonna post this here.

So in math class one day (6th grade), we were all in the middle of a lesson, and my teacher, being a kooky and fun as she is, started singing "Into the Unknown" from Frozen. The funny thing about that was, the people who took the choir elective were singing "Into the Unknown" for their performance. So again, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LESSON, my teacher started singing and everyone in the choir elective started singing along. EVEN THE BOYS. It was hilarious. Even after they stopped, Everyone started laughing and talking and the boys said that Frozen 2 was amazing 😂😂😂 It just so happened to be the same people who hated Frozen in 2nd grade. Ironic, right? Anyway, that teacher was AWESOME. She was also the drama teacher at school, and the same day in my homeroom class, the boys in drama came into class with a face full of makeup. It was amazing. Also, that teacher can sing. She even has a youtube channel 😂 BEST DAY EVER.
