Renée So I have managed to get to page 150 or so...So far I trip over abuse, manslaughter, genocide and all kinds of misery, in every two sentences or so, especially brains splattering as well as a lot of characters and places and thus confusion on my part. Still for some reason I have come this far. Usually when I think a book is not worthwhile reading I have figured this out by page 10 or so. So something is keeping me engaged.

However I have my doubts. I am not willing to spend another 750 pages or so on horrible stuff not knowing where I am with whom...especially if this does not lead to something...like a plot or identification with the character.

I would like to know: should I continu reading this book? Will it bring me anything other than I have experienced so far?

I have this principle that I alway finish a book when I have started it. But with this one I almost threw that principle out the window. I dont think I have ever been so tired of a book, that I was with The Kindly Ones at the end (I finished it yesterday). I got through it, but I cant say that I recommend you to do the same thing. Towards the end it just gets harder and harder to get to the releasing finish.

150 pages? omg! That means you still have like 850 to go. Im glad its not me :)

Good luck; whatever you decide to do.
