I've learned that passing the Bechdel Test requires asking three questions: Are there at least two named female characters? Do they speak to each other? Do they speak to each other about something other than a male "love" interest?
My question is for the third criteria: does a story pass this test if the two (or more) female characters have something other than a male love interest ... or if they basically NEVER talk about a male love interest? I have stories with SFLs that are cops (who talk about their jobs), a former child actor and her agent (who's trying to revive the former's career), or other heroes (group head in a disaster who defends a camp). I'd hate to think an SFL can't discuss a love interest at all in order to pass this test, but my MCs tend to have important focuses, so I just wanted to be sure.
