Kim gets a rescue dog, Barney! What made her do this? Your thoughts about the matter?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Even Kim needs someone to love. I think this is telling, that Kim even though she tells herself she is fine by herself takes on Barney and doesn't leave him at the dog shelter. Maybe she sees a kindred spirit, the dog doesn't have anyone either. Hopefully she is letting her heart thaw a little.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Kim related to Barney finally finding someone to love him, then getting put back in the system after the death of the person who gives unconditional love.

Barney becomes the recipient of all the love she has hidden away after the death of her brother.

I initially missed that this was Allan Harris’ dog! When I went back to the scene where she and Bryant were interviewing his mother, it was clear that the dog had adopted her.

I’m still trying to sort through it all...her being concerned about him at the murder scene, his attraction to her at Mrs. Harris’ flat and watching the rescue group come take him away. Something connected between these two. Not sure what Barney sensed...a kindred soul? Definitely unsure what he touched in Kim, enough to make her go get him.

Kim is a therapist’s dream.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I agree with Jonetta on this one. It all went back to the moment when the dog laid his head on Kim's leg during the interview.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I think Kim saw herself in Barney. She was shuffled between foster homes. Just when things were going well, something would happen and she would be moved again. She wasn't going to let that happen to Barney. When she went to look at the dogs that were available for adoption, she didn't even look at the other dogs. She knew what dog she was there to adopt.

I agree, Lynn and Robin. These two found each other.
