David Hardwick, owner of Hardwick House, also suspected all was not right with Alex. Do you think he should have severed ties with her earlier?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Hindsight is always 20/20 so yes he should have severed ties. However, in the moment, I had the feeling that he couldn't prove that she was doing anything wrong. It is possible to not like someone who does an outstanding job. From his online post, none of her patients had anything negative to say about her and he couldn't point to any wrong doings so why would he turn her away. David felt honored that someone with her credentials would help his residents.

I think you’re right, Sharon. He had misgivings and used an extreme measure to try and find people with misgivings about the woman. All he had was an instinct and it was a tough decision to deny what he thought might be free, helpful psychiatric treatment for his men.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) I guess it was difficult when all he had was a feeling and no hard evidence. Probably why he kept their relationship purely professional, as Sharon said it's possible to not particularly like someone or want to see them socially but respect their works skills.

Lynn (ftbooklover) His comment of not looking a gift horse in the mouth shows his motivation. A renowned psychiatrist is not something that this organization could afford, so without proof, why would he turn it down?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I agree with everyone. David Hardwick felt that something was off about Alex, but he had no proof. She was working at Hardwick House for free. He'd have to have some kind of proof before telling her they didn't need her services.
