kittykat AKA Ms. Tortitude | 124 comments So so many! I've had some nasties, but in general, I've had a great reading year. My 5 and 4.5 stars are:

5 Stars
Death's Dancer (Grace Bloods, #1) by Jasmine Silvera Dancer's Flame (Grace Bloods, #2) by Jasmine Silvera The Talon & the Blade by Jasmine Silvera superb and unique PNR/UF trilogy mainly about necromancers and their fight for power. The first two are BWWM and set in Prague and the third is AWWM and moves to the US. The cast is incredibly racially diverse throughout. Review written for books 1&3.

Queen Move by Kennedy Ryan One of my fav authors on the basis of just three books. This is a BWBiracialM (Black/White Jewish) and his dual heritage is key to his character. This is an excellent story of the struggles real people go through and the complications of life as adults, including things that some people don't like to see in romance. It is also an epic fated mates type of love story even though it has no fantasy elements whatsoever. Review written.

Hot and Badgered (Honey Badger Chronicles, #1) by Shelly Laurenston In a Badger Way (Honey Badger Chronicles, #2) by Shelly Laurenston Badger to the Bone (Honey Badger Chronicles, #3) by Shelly Laurenston I have never laughed so much reading books in all my life. With each series in this world, Shelley Laurenston gets better and better. But this is UF rather than PNR so the romance takes a backseat to all the madness. It's also more of a single story in three parts than it is three separate stories and is about three half-sisters on their dad's side. It's incredibly OTT and chaotic as hell so is not for the faint of heart or anyone who doesn't like absurdism! The first is BiracialW (White/Black)/WM, the second is WWAM and the third is BiracialW(Asian/White)/LM.

4.5 stars
A Second Chance Road Trip for Christmas (Holidays with the Wongs, #2) by Jackie Lau Supercute BWAM rom-com part of a four novella series about a Chinese-Canadian Family being set up by their parents/grandparents. I loved them all but this was my favourite. Review written.

Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold by Ellen O'Connell A superb western historical that is WWBiracialM (White/NativeAm). Starts of hard-hitting, the MMCs heritage is key but the story has heart. Review written.

Hooked (7th and Main, #2) by Elizabeth Hunter Hearteyes for this WWBM story where the male is a wonderfully nerdy comic book store owner who is also into rock climbing. Review written.

Beast Behaving Badly (Pride, #5) by Shelly Laurenston The Beast in Him (Pride, #2) by Shelly Laurenston Both BWWM, I'm including here even though I did only give 4 stars, as this series is a 5 star overall. Shelley Laurenston knocks it out of the park IMO as far as humourous PNR goes, but she is also very clever with her characterisations and how even in their human forms, each one mimics many of their animal traits. And those things are often the cause of much of the hilarity in the stories. She also includes enough description or dialogue throughout that readers should not be able to ignore the racial background of the POC characters which are littered throughout her books even as the secondary characters. Series Review written under book 9 which is the last in the series.

kittykat AKA Ms. Tortitude | 124 comments 4 stars:

Tracking Tahlula (Police and Fire Operation Alpha; On Call #3) by Freya Barker Edge of Tomorrow (Arrow's Edge MC, #3) by Freya Barker both BWWM, books 3 and 3 of two seperate but interconnected RS series by the same author. Some tough subjects covered but done well IMO.

Love On My Mind (Shades of Love, #1) by Tracey Livesay Along Came Love (Shades of Love, #2) by Tracey Livesay Love Will Always Remember (Shades of Love, #3) by Tracey Livesay the whole trilogy is BWWM, the men are all friends and these are some very messy (especially the FMC of book 2 which I think is my fav of them all) but relatable people, all very distinct from each other. Book 3 is one of the best anmesia stories I've ever read.

Dance All Night (Dance Off, #2.5) by Alexis Daria BWWM, the last in a trilogy set in the dance world. This one is also a cute Xmas story. The first two are both LWWM and are fantastic stories of very different people all in the dance world. Review written.

A Girl Like Her (Ravenswood, #1) by Talia Hibbert Damaged Goods (Ravenswood, #1.5) by Talia Hibbert Untouchable (Ravenswood #2) by Talia Hibbert That Kind of Guy (Ravenswood, #3) by Talia Hibbert This whole series is BWWM apart from 1.5 which is WWBiracialM (Middle Eastern/White). One of the few UK romance authors I've read that write about our country as it is, Talia Hibbert is an auto buy for me. Reviews written.

Agnes Moor's Wild Knight by Alyssa Cole A BWWM Scottish historical based on real events that happened around 1508. Review written.

The A.I. Who Loved Me by Alyssa Cole BWAM Sci-fi romantic suspense! Cute, and funny with a twist.Review written.

Office Hours by Katrina Jackson BWLM. Academia. Cute and relatively low angst.

Hearts on Hold by Charish Reid The Write Escape by Charish Reid two standalones, both BWWM. Also Academia the first is a female professor and a male kids librarian and the second is an Irish male professor and female literary agent who is also an aspiring romance author and is set in Ireland. Superb secondary characters in both. Review written for the first one.

Along for the Ride by Mimi Grace BWPIM (Pacific Islander). A road trip between 'sworn enemies'. A fun romp.

All Beautiful Things by Nicki Salcedo BWWM A heartwrenching RS and the story of a woman regaining her confidence and power following a violent and disfuguring assault falling for the brother of her attacker who is desperate to try and make things right.

Whiskey Kisses (The Breedlove Sisters #1) by Lena Hampton BWWM Musician story. Has some excellent commentary on the effects of SM on a celebrity relationship and also regarding the larger than 'acceptable' lady he loves. And a hilarious no filter grandma who gets a whole chapter to her verbal shenanigans. Review written.

A Fake Girlfriend for Chinese New Year (Holidays with the Wongs, #3) by Jackie Lau WWAM same family/series as A Second Chance Road Trip for Christmas in my last post. The other two books are both BiracialM (Asian/White)AF. The whole series is funny AF and steeped in culture and food. Review written.

Unicorn of Glass (Fae Shifter Knights #2) by Zoe Chant BWWM PNR novella. Another funny, this is part of a series about a group of Knights from the Fae Realm who are also shifters and get trapped in some glass Xmas ornaments and end up on the Earth Realm... sounds quirky and is. So much fun to be had reading this and the previous one that I read last year. Eagerly awaiting book 3... Review written.

Welcome. There is so much crud written and discussed in the threads, that I always feel it important to mention the great ones and it's helpful to give a little 'blurb'.
