I have seen (and loved) the 1938 film adaptation of Cronin's The Citadel - I really should read the book, especially since you gave it 4*!

I had also seen a series by the Italian TV company RAI, almost 40 years ago. I didn't remember it at all - only that I liked it. And I'm glad I've read the book

I've started it yesterday - but today I'm working full time and I'm afraid I won't read a line.
I'm quite liking it: a real "closed room mystery" - love them!

I hadn't realized that it was a locked room mystery - I really like these too :) Though I am bad at figuring out the trick to them!!

I liked the foreword the author wrote to his father. Usually I skip that sort of thing (forewords, introductions etc) so I don't know what made me read this one. He promises to "play fair" with the reader and present all the clues, no producing some fact that was unknown to the reader at the denouement - I like that!

I like that too, but as you I'm terrible getting to things

Didn't like it so much: it makes itself read easily, but nothing new - much he had already written, much others - Philip Dick for all.
He opens several pages and I don't think he closes most of them; a pity.
Not a bad book, but nothing more

If you look aroud here you'll find people who manage to read more than I do!
But I have to say that, untill a month ago, we couldn't travel, couldn't go to swimming pool or gym; theatre, cinema or concerts. I don't particularly like tv; all my free time - that was a lot therefore, was on books!!!

Yes same here, my town has also been open for about a month now, but I'm still not as fast as you when it comes to reading lol! I guess the main thing to become a better reader is to read, read, read! :)
