Ann (annrumsey) | 16926 comments One month to go in a very strange year. October saw my reading full of short fiction mixed in with regular novels. November saw podcasts and news monopolizing my time and less short fiction. It was a good month with my usual audio books, four of those, but also three print books.

Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action
by Simon Sinek audio Overdrive read for work.

The Bamboo Blonde by Dorothy B. Hughes Kindle library I had read the first book for my Determination list and decided I should read the sequel. I liked both.

Then She Vanished by T. Jefferson Parker print library, a favorite series.

Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman audio Overdrive the back story adds to the enjoyment. I had to watch the movie Practical Magic again after I finished it. :) My favorite of the month.

Our Time Is Now: Power, Purpose, and the Fight for a Fair America by Stacey Abrams audio Overdrive

The Last Trial by Scott Turow Kindle and print my first by the author, current group read

The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich audio Overdrive an historical novel fittingly finished on Native American heritage day.

Barbara K Quite a nice mix, Ann.

Kari | 149 comments Oh, nice! How did you like the Stacey Abrams book? I work in politics so I tend to avoid reading a lot of political books since I like to avoid work in my downtime, but I've been tempted to pick this one up.

I hope I love Magic Lessons. I loved Practical Magic, but didn't care for the sequel/prequel after it.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16926 comments Kari: I enjoyed it, my goal was to get to know Stacey Abrams better and it was enlightening. I also learned things I didn't know or realize about voter registration. Very topical and she is impressive!

Ann (annrumsey) | 16926 comments Bonnie: It is hard to top Practical Magic for sure. Prequels are often tough to get past our own foreshadowing; I had to get past that a few times and just settle down and enjoy the historical perspective.

She is impressive! I have some friends who live in Georgia and have gotten to meet and chat with her. I was jealous!

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9483 comments The Stacy Abrams book looks interesting, will have to give it a go. Although I worry it will depress me coming in the January senate runoff.

I keep meaning to get back to T. Jeff too. There was a time when he was a must-read, then I got tired of one MC after another who was down and out, struggling with his past and doomed love affairs.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16926 comments Carol: Stacey Abrams may very well need to write a new book about the post election.. what a crazy time.
and while I won't say Roland Ford has a happy love life, (he's a widower) he is a different sort of T Jeff mc. ;)
