Same. Sort of. My current read is going so slowly that I'm not even trying to finish it this year. LOL

I was looking for an end-of-year novel like a week ago but couldn't concentrate on anything in particular.

Dark Lover - 4 Star Review "
Awesome! I hope to get my first one in tonight or tomorrow.

Zikora: A Short Story - 4 Stars (Felt too incomplete for a 5th star)
I see a trend here ... lol

I did not know at the time that it would be a no longer advanced, uncorrected copy, but hey, I won it anyway.
It is

I've been curious about Hearne's new series. I gave up on Iron Druid around 3 or so books in because the snark was just getting to be too much for me. But I really liked it up till that point, so yeah, I'm curious.

Odd but true. I'm trying to add a pic but have no idea how to do so. I can't seem to generate a shareable link.
I had Iron Druid on my Wishlist for the longest time but never got around to it.
They've started another giveaway for Ink & Sigi if you're interested.

I know... I can never leave well enough alone.

Summer Frost - 3 Stars
Better than I remembered:
Lover Enshrined - 4 Stars
Beautiful as always.
Father Mine - 5 Satrs

Lover Avenged - 5 Stars
And with this book, I have officially read more pages in the month of January than I read in the entirety of 2020!

Congrats! That's awesome!
I'm still on book 2 of the year. LOL But I ain't even worryin' about it.

Thanks. :) It just underlines how craptastic 2020 was for me.

Exactly! I hope you're enjoying your reading journey! <3

Emergency Skin - 5 Stars
And I've now, technically, completed my challenge for the year. LOL
I'm delighted to have had the reading month I've had.
I started a new job the week before last, so I will not be blazing through the books as quickly, anymore but it was fun while it lasted.
I caught up on all of the BDB series rereads, except one, and I'm beginning the crossover series, Fallen Angel.
So no matter what happens from here on out, January was a great month!

Fallen Angels definitely has a different feel, which is not a bad thing, just unexpected - I guess. I'm glad I'll be switching off between BDB and FA. I don't know that I would enjoy reading the FA books back to back.

Covet was the last thing I read before this month! That's crazy (and sad)!!
But I'll just keep moving forward...
Thankfully, two collections of short stories have brought me back to the world of the reading, Black Stars, a Science Fiction collection, and Southern Belle Insults, a series about a woman changing her life.
I ended up reading almost as many titles in the past two weeks as I did the first two months.

Happy New Year! Let's hope 2022 is what we all thought 2021 was going to be. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I have chosen: The Black Dagger Brotherhood, of which I have 13 of the novels in paperback; its spinoff, Black Dagger Legacy , of which I have 1 of the novels in paperback, and the crossover series, Fallen Angels, of which I have 1 of the novels in paperback.
I will follow the suggested Reading Order from J.R. Ward's site.

To prevent burnout, I'll look for short stories. Right now, I'm leaning toward the Amazon Original Stories Collections.
