Sophie | 216 comments The Jungle by Upton Sinclair is #92 on our 100 list and one of the group reads for December 2020. It was published serially in 1905, and as a single novel in 1906.

Nancy Mills (nancyfaym) | 73 comments it's pretty bleak. Apparently the descriptions of the slaughterhouses caused quite a stir after it was published and prompted reforms. Depressing but certainly worth reading.
