What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hi all. Can't remember the title of a book series I read about 8 years ago. It was a Christian fiction series of I think 3 or 4 books about a man who discovers he is half angel, half man. His father I believe was a demon. There is an angel who teaches him how to do "angel" things like fly and walk through walls. There is also a professor, I think, who has an assistant (or wife?) whose name starts with an S, Sue maybe. The professor does at some point.

Author is a man, I'm fairly certain.

Kris, I think it would be geared towards adults but it is "safe" for teens too. The story is modern day. I don't know the location.

Can you tell us more about the man - e.g., age, job, marital status, home town? How does he discover he's half angel?
